"Great Hotel"
We spent 2 nights at The Ibis and absolutely loved it. Friendly and courteus staff. Rooms were average size and very clean and comfortable. views not up to much but it was quiet when we opened the french windows (great after a night at a gig )
Within walking distance of both Gare de L'Est and Gare de Nord. Lots of cafes and restaurants

"Big Family Room"
We stayed 2 nights at the Ibis after walking around the corner from our original hotel after a sleepless night.
Room had 1 queen and 2 singles which was perfect for our kids (10 & 12) and the Air Con was great in the heatwave.
On checking in we were presented with breakfast vouchers which we assumed meant that breakfast was included - our mistake and it would have been much cheaper to walk out the door and sit at the corner cafe - minor problem.
Room was very big and standard Ibis - staff were helpful and the little bar / cafe was a great place to hang out at the end of a long day.

"Great!"
My sister and I were in Toronto for two days before catching the train to Vancouver, and stayed at the Novotel Centre. We enjoyed it very much. Our room was spotlessly clean, very comfortable, and we never even noticed the construction going on across the street till we were outside. Breakfast in the restaurant was delicious and staff there was great; didn't do the buffet, though. Try the Canadian wines available in the bar - you might be surprised at how good some of them are! I agree with one reviewer about the minibar that charges you if you so much as pick up a botlle of water - very guest unfriendly. We found the hotel staff to be friendly and helpful, especially when it came to restaurant info (choosing a restaurant in Toronto, among so many wonderful choices can be torture!!) and how to use public transportation. The pool area was nice, and I found a soak in the hottub to be just the ticket after walking around this fascinating city for hours upon hours. It's very close to CN Tower, Hockey Hall of Fame, Bluebird Center, tons of good restaurants and shopping. If you're travelling by train, this place is a winner, as it's a short, easy walk to Union Station, even if you have lots of luggage. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat.

"wonderful hotel!"
This was my second stay at the Novotel Toronto Centre this year and I plan on staying there again when I return to Toronto in December.
Both times I've stayed at this hotel, I've found the staff to be exceedingly knowledgable and polite. I ordered dinner from room service every night during this recent stay and found the delivery to be prompt and complete. When I called to report a broken hair dryer one morning, it was replaced immediately.
The on-site restaurant is quite nice, offering fresh pastries and espresso each morning in addition to a well-priced, complete breakfast buffet. They serve lunch and dinner as well.
The location of this hotel could not be better. Located on the Esplanade, Union Station and the Underground are just a few short blocks away. The local area around the hotel is strewn with quaint shops, bookstores and coffee bars. There are several wonderful restaurants nearby and the neighborhood felt very safe late into the evening.
