"Ultra Modern Luxury Resort"
Oaks Lagoons is a sparkling resort style hotel and because it is still very new we enjoyed having the run of the place. The lagoon style pool which fronts ground floor rooms, providing direct water access, and the balcony spas on half the two upper floors are the headline features. The rooms are modern, opulent and comfortable for the price range. It was extremely well cleaned; we couldn't tell if the room had ever been used before. You really need to have your own transport to access Port Douglas cafes and shops as walking for even 2 minutes in tropical sun can be an ordeal.

"Fantastic!!"
We have just spent 5 nights at Oaks Lagoon. Its a great new resort. The room was perfect for what we needed. We had a studio room with swim up. Nothing bad to say about it at all. Its still very new so not very busy at all. I am sure when word gets out it will be very popular. Good for Oaks a shame for us as it was great having the place virtually to ourselves. Good look to all the staff aty Oaks Lagoons.

"Wonderful New Hotel!"
My New husband and I were lucky enough to travel around the East cost of Australia for our honeymoon in November. Our trip concluded in Port Douglas and after a lot of travelling we were looking forward to spending the last week in one place.
The Oaks Lagoons recently opened and we were one of five couples staying at the hotel.
There are several types of room available and we stayed in a standard room with a spa bath on our balcony. The rooms were big enough for a couple, were decorated well, clean and had the usual mod cons....TV, Kettle, Toaster, Fridge etc.....
All rooms come with a balcony and some have a "swim up" to the pool on the ground floor or a spa bath on the other floors.
The bathroom was a little on the small side but to be honest I dont see how a bigger bathroom would of made our stay any more enjoyable.
The hotel staff went out of thier way to be helpful and spent a lot of time with us, helping to book the local tours. Computers with the internet are also available in reception at a small cost.
The Oaks is a little out of the main area named Mossman Street, walking along Four Mile beach to town is wonderful but its not something you would want to do in the evening. A cab into town cost us AUS $12.
An extension to the hotel is currently underway, we did not hear anybuilding works whilst we stayed. Every effort has been made to close off the area but you can see whats going on....we were not worried about it as we spent most of our time on the beach or on day trips.
All in all we considered the hotel to be clean, there are more luxurious resorts in the area but if you are looking for motel type accomodation with a little bit extra you will not be disapointed.
