Oasis Hotel forms part of Hostelería Garmi S.A., a family business with a future. From 1956, when founder and current president Tomás Gargallo undertook his first hotel and catering trade project. Very good standard for a officially 2 star hotel, well preserved with ongoing refurbishing. Family-run business hotel with friendly service. Excellent location and laidback ambient are its higher points. Preferably for low budget individuals travelers.
LOCATION

Oasis Hotel enjoys the great privilege of being located in the tourist centre of Barcelona, beside Port Vell, the Gothic Quarter, the Picasso Museum and the Borne Quarter, centre of art, design and restoration vanguards in Barcelona, with its famous shops and endless restaurants. There is an underground station 50 m. from the hotel and several bus lines, among them, the Bus Turístic, with which you will be able to move to any point of the city.
PROPERTY AMENITIES

* Buffet:

Located on the first floor, it is the place where hotel guests can have breakfast. The self-service includes: coffee, milk, infusions, bread, croissants, orange juice, cereals, marmalade, butter, cold meat, cheese, eggs, fruit and yoghurt.

* Restaurant:

Located on the ground floor of the hotel, in a comfortable, quiet space with a modernist design, the restaurant offers a daily menu at midday and at night, to choose between several dishes. Open from 13:00 h. to 16:00 h. and from 20:00 h. to 22:00 h.

* Cafeteria:

Located on the ground floor of the hotel, it is a nice meeting point where you can taste a great variety of tapas, drink good sangría or taste coffee. Snacks and combined dishes.

* The hotel lobby is small with a marble and wooden staircase.

We staeyed here 5 nights.The room was clean, staff helpfull and the breakfast adequate for our needs. Good location for sightseeing.In all a very satisfactory stay in an hotel which is far better than it's 2 star rating would suggest. Recommended.

Excellent
I stayed with 4 friends at the Oasis Hotel on the first weekend in March. The Hotel is in an excellent location; 10 minutes on foot to La Ramblas, 15 minutes on foot to Port Olimpico, 1 minute to the Marina. The rooms were small but comfortable, small but very clean bathrooms and friendly staff. This hotel is perfect for budget travellers or for groups of friends. Highly reccomended; we will be staying here again.

Good value and location
Having read the positive review from another Prestonian, we decided to stay at the Oasis in February. We found it to be convenient to the Metro (only a short journey, with one change of line, to Placa de Catalunya) and within walking distance of Port Vell and seaboard end of La Rambla. Staff friendly, accommodation and breakfast OK. Unlike previous guest, we heard no traffic noise at night even though we could see Pla de Paula (the square) from our side room. We found some really good restaurants within a short walking distanceof the hotel in Barrio Gothic, especially an organic food restaurant, but you MUST try Pepe's restaurant (a 17th century house in a back alley) for an intimate evening and personal service, explaining all that is on offer in the Catalunyan buffet he prepares with his wife - if you can find the restaurant that is!
