"Pleasant stay at the Onyx"
Booked Onxy based on reviews and price. It's definitely a good value for the money: free wifi, coffee in the AM, newspaper, free wine in the lobby after work. Room was clean, a little on the small side, but definitely comfortable. Friendly staff, located close to public transport. It's kind of on the outskirts of town in my opinion, but a quick walk, taxi ride or train ride to anyplace in Boston. It's contemporary in design, but a little more vibrant than I like. I guess I'm more of a minimalist. As for the bathrooms, they were actually kind of bland when it comes to style. The important thing, however, is that eerything was pretty clean. I'm nuts when it comes to cleanliness, and with the exception of a small stain on the carpet in my room, it passed the cleanliness test. I'd definitely stay there again, unless I come into a windfall and can afford to stay at XV Beacon.

I have stayed at the onyx hotel several times, and each time seems better then the last. it is a fabulous hotel with staff to match. overhearing me and my friends were staying on behalf of a birthday, mr. howlzworth sent an adorable card accompanied with a bottle of wine to our room. he was also increadibly helpful with recomondations on resteraunts, local attractions and nightlife. other than the staff the onyx is hip, clean and has a convienient location. based on my stays here i would recomend the hotel anytime, you will not be disappointed.
