"Good value, Good location"
Basically this has to be one of the best 3* hotels i have stayed in. If not the best.
No extra luxurys as you would expect from a 3* hotel but the rooms are clean spacious and have internet access (if you bring your own laptop that is). The bathroom is great also.
The location is great also from my point of view. As the Urgell metro is a 5min walk alway and is a zitch to use. And links you to all the best places which are only 5-10mins away. Best thing to do is buy a pass for the entirety for your trip.
Note: to get from the airport to the hotel either take a taxi or take a train to Sants Estacio and tehn metro to Urgell. But if first time take a taxi to save hassle.

"Great value for money hotel"
Our first trip to Barcelona and we weren't disappointed, especially with this hotel. It may only be a 3* but probably deserves a higher rating because of the high standard of decor and cleanliness. The fact it was a totally non-smoking property adds to the freshness and comfort of the hotel. Buffet breakfast was more than adequate and gives you a good start to the day. Metro being close by saved the 15 minute walk to and from Las Ramblas. We definitely would stay here again.

"An absolulte bargain"
We booked this hotel two days in advance as we were staying on the coast in Salou and fancied a night in Barcelona. And what a bargain - £52 for an extremely clean, bright, spacious and well ventilated room.
The location is good too especially given the price - a stone's throw from the Gran Via and around 20 mins walk from Las Ramblas. It's also right next to a couple of Metro stations if you don't fancy the walk.
Would definitley stay in this hotel again.

"Perfect..."
Arrived at HCC Open...quiet and off the beaten path. Bus stop was a half block behind the hotel. We were only 8 blocks from Las Rambla..easy walking. My brother-in-law stayed at the Regente which is located on the northern part of Las Rambla. He paid $250 a night and when we went to see his room, it was exactly like ours, except the bathroom was about a foot bigger. The staff at the hotel were very friendly and spoke pretty good English. I wouldn't recommend the breakfast..14 Euro per person, and not like the good old bacon and eggs.. We ate at a small cafe down the road and paid 3 or 4 Euro for bacon and eggs and french fries. Delicious! The hotel was imaculate and I was so glad we found it on Trip Advisor. The picture of the room on the internet is exactly the room we got. Can't go wrong!

"5 stars!!!"
Absolutely loved this hotel. It had a great location, close to Las Ramblas, and 2 mins from nearest tube station. It was a quiet and very clean hotel. The staff were very friendly.
This was a huge surprise for me and my mates,as we got such a good last minute deal,so we were expecting something pretty bad,and it was the complete opposite!
Would definitely recommend this to anyone visiting Barcelona!

"Great Hotel in a Great City"
My wife and I stayed at the HCC Open for three nights in May 2005, and absolutely loved it.
It is in a great location, 2 mins from the metro station (Rocafort on the Red Line) 10 mins walk from the airport bus stop at Placa Espanya, and 10 mins walk to Las Ramblas
The HCC Open is a good priced hotel and deserves a better star rating the room was a good size and very clean. We had breakfast included in the price, and could not fault it with plenty of choice.
We would highly recommend this hotel for your stay in Barcelona, and I am sure we will return.

"Great hotel"
The hotel is very good. Modern, spacious air-conditioned rooms, immaculately clean, located at a stone's throw from a metro station and within walking distance to the city centre. I would say that at 85 euros I paid the value-for-money ratio was very good and I would definitely stay there again. Please note that they also have a wi-fi zone at the reception area which you can use for free (it is not mentioned on their site).

"Nice hotel"
We stayed in this hotel for 3 days in August, also I took the advise from the trip adviser to stay in this hotel, but I did not see that I was near anything, there was nothing it took us hours to reach the centre of Barcelona, and even there was not life near the hotel, but for the hotel it was nice , clean, the stuff very very friendly , the buffet was nice, but no swimming pool ,no nothing, if you want to spend good time in the hotel , you can not,you must stay out to enjoy your time, but maybe most of the hotels there are the same, not sure if I can say it if I would go another time I would choose another hotel i.e Jazz hotel which I was planning to stay there but the agent had no access to this hotel, it's exactly in the centre of Barcelona and the sea is just behind the hotel.
