Original Raj Hotel is the U.K's first Indian themed Hotel and was opened by Lady Shakira Caine in Spring 2000. All rooms are furnished with Indian hardwood furniture handmade in Jaipur from recycled Australian railway sleepers. The fabrics & furniture of the hotel evoke the atmosphere and romance of India. Located close to Haymarket train station and 5 minutes by bus to Princes Street it is ideally located for exploring Edinburgh.
The hotel is situated in the up-market Murrayfield area of Edinburgh, 1 mile west of the City Centre, on the A8 which leads to Edinburgh Airport and thence to Glasgow. Guests can order from the extensive menu of the well known Raj Restaurant on The Shore in Leith which delivers to the hotel.
The Raj Hotel aims to attract the repeat and referred custom of independent travellers, romantic weekenders, business people and families who are looking for genuinely unique experience well located for the centre of Edinburgh at reasonable prices.
