"Very clean, staff friendly and helpful"
We stayed at the Oudaya for three nights and were happy with the quality of the hotel and the service provided. Breakfast was continental with a selection of pastries, orange juice and coffee. The barman was excellent and the prices of beer and coffee were very reasonable. Staff were generally friendly and were helpful when I needed to contact the holiday rep. Rooms were simple and clean. Two reception areas at each end of the hotel tended to be confusing, eg money exchanged in one, key left in the other.
The main advantage of this hotel is its location in the new town. 5 minute taxi ride to Jamma el Fna or a 40 minute walk. Haggle with the the taxi drivers, about 20 dirhams is adequate to get to Jamma el fna.
Bar 33 around the corner offered excellent three course meals with wine for about 250 dirhams for 2 people.
We found the people of Marrakech even the sellers to be honest and friendly. Everybody speaks French very slowly so even we could communicate, unlike in France.
At no time did we feel threatened in any way walking around the Medina! Be firm with street sellers.

"Fantastic Hotel!!!!!!"
Please please ignore all stupid remarks regarding this hotel!!
I have just returned from Marakesh and what a fabulous experience, I must admit I was actually going to cancel my holiday because of what other people had wrot but Im so glad I ignored them! I cant understand what other people were moaning about, at the edn of the day If you want top class hotels dont be a cheap skate and book cheap holidays, you get what you pay for, and with regards to those who say the staff are unfriendly - you would be too serving a whole lot of arrogant english people who think the world revolves around them, if you smile at them and show them respect they will do the same for you..
Anyway the hotel itself is very clean and in a fantastic location,
the rooms were spacious and decorated in morrocan style which made a change from the bland white walls and cold floors you normally get, afterall if youre going to a foreign country you want to example their way of life, the sana was relaxing after a hard day of sightseeing and the pool area was clean and well kept.
overall I would definately return to this hotel and recommend it to my friends and family...
