Our family’s hotel of choice in Vancouver
Our family visits Vancouver often and we’ve tried many different hotels. This is our favorite. It’s well located, within walking distance to lots of shops, restaurants and the city’s crown jewel, Stanley Park. We often have breakfast in our room, taking advantage of the modest kitchen facilities in the king suite. The neighborhood is bustling, so can be a bit noisy especially on weekend nights, but everything else makes up for that. If the weather is rainy, and even when it’s not, we love spending time at the pool which also has a steam room, hot tub and workout facilities. Staff is friendly and accommodating. |

Pacific Palisades Hotel - My Home Away from Home
I should have written this earlier. I absolutely love this place.
There are newer and posher places in Vancouver, but no one hotel that has the same combination of location, comfort, quirky personality and absolutely awesome staff that PP does.
A warning though. If you insist on your hotels being pristinely sterile, this is not for you. PP recognizes and practises tolerance of everything. PP still permits smokers on smoking only floors and is a very pet-friendly place for pets of all sizes and shapes. Ken (one of the staff) regularly brings his rescued black one-eyed cocker spaniel to work and she does duty as the official hotel greeter, resplendent in her red-feather boa!
I love the one-bedroom suites with a separate bedroom ( when did they start allowing hotels to use the word "suite" to describe a big room but with no division between the sleeping and living areas?). There's a fridge, mini-bar, micro-wave, coffee-maker, kettle and 2 toasty-warm bathrobes in each room. Great pool and hot tub (in a separate building). But the big BIG thing about PP is the staff. This is a place where the staff is attuned to every need wirhout being obsequious about it. They are all about friends welcoming you in.
I absolutely love this place.

Great Staff, Great Location
We visited from Seattle for a short trip with family. We were a little unsure due to other reviews. But our stay was fantastic. The staff were awesome, always polite and extremely helpful. The location was great - we has not stayed in Vancouver before and this worked great for day trips north and for finding food in town. Plus window shopping is fun on Robson Street. They take dogs - which is one reason we picked it - think she may have been treated better than us. Will definately return on our next stay in Vancouver. |

One of my fave hotels EVER
This hotel is fantastic for families with young children. We have a 2 and 5 year old and we moved to Vancouver a few years ago. We made several house-hunting trips and each time we requested to stay at the Palisades. I loved the kitchenettes, makes having kids around easier and it was great to have them in the "other bedroom" or living room and hubby and I got a little privacy. The pool is a blast for the little guys as is their back patio. At one point, my then 4 year old was roller-blading on this safe, flat urban retreat. It is a joy to sit in the courtyard on a nice day and on a rainy day, a retreat to the jacuzzi is welcome. The staff were friendly and helpful and the bell staff were very helpful with my baby gear each time we had to go in or out. We did not try out the restaraunt as there are so many amazing cuisines available on Robson street.
