"Excellent stay!!"
I invited my wife for a relaxing weekend stay in Copenhagen and we chose Palace Hotel because of the central location. I really made the right decision! The interior is just as beautiful as the exterior! - We got a nice, large room which is totally renovated and with a large comfortable bed, great bathroom and large flat screen TV. We stayed from Saturday to Sunday and we enjoyed the delicious breakfast buffet for more than an hour. The hotel even offers sparkling wine on the breakfast buffet.
When we come to Copenhagen again we will definately choose the Palace Hotel!

The re-furbished rooms are gorgeous"
We had a fantastic stay. The staff were very attentive and corteous. The room which had just been refurbished was beautiful, very luxurious.
location couldn't be better. In the heart of the city. I would definitely go back.

"Wonderful hotel - and what a location!"
My boyfriend and I stayed for 5 days at the Palace Hotel and it was such a wonderful experience that we will definitely return. We stayed in one of the refurbished rooms and it was absolutely gorgeous - the colour scheme and furniture was beautifully coordinated and the room was lovely and bright. The room also had internet connection and a flat screen tv - what more could you want!? We had a room facing the Townhall Square and it was lovely watching the world go by. The hotel is located right in the middle of Copenhagen and you can walk to anywhere from your base. The Staff at the hotel was very professional and efficient and couldn't do enough for us. They made you feel really welcome.
The whole stay was just fabulous and we can both highly recommend this hotel for both business and pleasure.

"Very good experience"
During my stay I, first of all, liked the staff. Everybody was very helpful and nice at The Palace in Copenhagen. Then I had the chance to stay in one of the new rooms and I have to say that they are extremely well designed and comfortable. I had no problem in terms of noise and I also liked the atmosphere of the bar overlooking the Raadhuspladsen where I used to stop for a drink at the end of the day.
Overall a very good experience.

"Pleased to stay at the Palace (Copenhagen):"
I have stayed at the Palace hotel on a number of occassions over the past 5 years. The hotel itself is an old building with dated decor but very comfortable. I understand there is modernisation program underway. For me the two most important aspects of a hotel stay is comfort and service and without doubt I give the Palace hotel a five star rating. I always get a good nights sleep and the hotel staff are very convivial, helpful, effecient and polite.

"Regular visitor to The Palace"
Over the course of the last year and a half I have been working in Copenhagen and have regularly stayed at The Palace. Leaving early and returning in the evening from work means that The Palace is now my main recollection of Copenhagen. The hotel is comfortable and I have always found the staff to be friendly and willing to be of any assistance. The breakfast room and bar are reasonably well stocked and the restaurant menu is not unreasonable for a hotel in such a central location (although I have tended to eat out in the evenings preferring a short walk to the many eateries available locally). I have never used the business facilities and so cannot comment.
The rooms on the front overlooking the Town Hall and square are spacious and named after famous celebrities with memorabelia in each room. On my last visit I stayed in the Audrey Hepburn room. Other notorieties to name but a few include The Beatles, Horatio Nelson, Louis Armstrong, Marilyn Munroe, Michael Schumacher and David Essex.............David Essex ! Not forgetting of course local Danish dignatories. My favourite room is named after the hotel's architect where the bathroom mural matches the mermaid on the hotel tower.
The furniture and decor of the hotel are without question dated and the plumbing and drainage systems sometimes can't cope. Having said that if there is any problem with a particular room the staff have always responded to any maintenance requests.
Starwood are in the process of undertaking a phased upgrade of the rooms and are nearing completion of the rooms towards the back of the hotel. During the renovation I have not noticed any inconvenience or disruption to hotel guests although during normal working hours I have not been present in the hotel to comment. The new rooms are modern and clean with the traditional solid gold keys replaced by plastic door entry cards. I guess that will mean that eventually The Palace will become like any other hotel in any other town. Personally I can put up with a few scuff marks here and there preferring instead the tradition, nostalgia overall friendliness and comfort of the hotel.

"Had a GREAT time"
I read everyone else's reviews and i am so glad they wrote them because they must have made some huge improvements to the hotel before we arrived. We had an awesome time, the hotel was booked up, so there was not a shortage of guests. The staff was VERY nice, the hotel was very well located, and we found the room to be very large for a European hotel and our room did not have any of the stains, dust or holes in the carpets that i read in any of the previous messages. The beds were not the "Sweet Dreams" beds that the US Sheraton brand hotels have, but they were comparable to other European hotel beds that I have stayed in. We were a group of 3 and had 2 rooms, so i had the ability to see and compare both rooms, and found them both to be more than adequate. I did price comparisons of other hotels and compared the price with the location and found this location to be more important than the price; and the price was only slightly more than the rest (maybe 10%), totally worth it for the location. They had an excellent morning breakfast, and their bar was quiet, but a nice place to end the evening - incase you needed just one more :) I would definitely stay in this hotel again, and I would recommend it to my friends.

"Excellent stay at the Palace"
We found the installations to be above average, the staff were most friendly and extremely helpfull. Meals both hearty, varied and thoughtfully prepared to enhance taste and decoration. In the principle square of Copenhagen right across from Tivoli Park the Palaced couldn't be better situated. They help with excursions to places in Copenhagen, the rest of Denmark and Sweden. We thoroughly enjoyed our excellent stay at the Palace.

"Good experiences at the Palace"
I have stayed at the Palace four times in the past two years and had a wonderful experience each time. I was assigned an Ambassador Room on each occasion, and that may be the difference between my experiences and those of others. The rooms were large, with a large closet and a lovely bathroom. We liked being right on the Square. Breakfast is ample and very good. The staff was pleasant and accommodating. We are hoping to stay there again next month |
