"Fabulous 5 Star"
An outstanding hotel â hospitality and service were outstanding in the best Swiss tradition i.e. efficient, accommodating, quiet, unobtrusive and always pleasant. We stayed for several days in April 2004 in a fifth floor junior suite overlooking the lake and it was one of the best hotel rooms Iâ ve stayed in while in Europe (Iâ ve stayed in several hundred). It was huge and well appointed. The breakfast offered a very broad selection (classic Swiss continental as well as eggs, bacon,â ¦) and again the setting and service were impeccable. The new restaurant Jasper was good but with itâ s limited menu and perfunctory service-I did not think it was worth a SF 200+ dinner for two.Only suggestion for improvement â TV was small and offered very limited English content. CNN was it for large portions of the day (and I get tired of hearing the US trashed after a while). However overall, the hotel is definitely five star quality. Would stay here again in a minute.Local excursions to Mt Rigi and Pilatus are a lot of fun and the Swiss Transport Museum nearby is a very high quality institution. It was still too cool for a lot of lake activity but definitely take a boat trip to one of the nearby mountain attractions.Dinner at the Old Swiss Inn is a classic for Luzern â though a bit touristy â youâ ll join celebrities ranging from Norman Schwarzkopf to Lyndon Johnson. Dinner at Rotes Gatter restarant along river was excellent -it's in the old cobblestoned section of Luzern - a great place for wandering / shopping.

"Lake and Alps View"
Probably one of the most beautiful rooms we have ever stayed in. A huge living area with separate bedroom and large bathroom. Exceptional decorating. Our balconey was hug with a gorgeous view of the lake and Alps. We lounge and watched the sun set over the mountains. Spectacular. Within walking distance to the town. The staff were wonderful. Very, very helpful with directions as we were dropping off one rental car and picking up another. Excellent service.

"Incredible views"
Stayed at the Palace for 3 nights in August with my husband and 2 small children. We had a spacious corner suite. However, when it was discovered that two child beds wouldn't fit in the second room, we were immediately given the next room too!! So we had incredible space inside and out (a terrace with a view of the lake). We opted not to dine in the restaurant and relied on room service because it seemed that children would be unwelcome in such a formal setting. While the staff were friendly and obviously accomodating, I would not describe the hotel as child-friendly. As other reviewers have mentioned, the Palace is pricey, but so is just about everything in Switzerland. But given how much time we spent in our room, it was worth every penny.
