The 3-star Palazzo Guardi Hotel, housed in a 16th century Venetian Palace, has been completely re-modeled and transformed into a beautifully individual property without losing any of its period style.

Opened by Andrea and Lucio in 2004, this intimate hotel, named after the famous painter Francesco Guardi, is just a few steps away from the world famous Accademia Gallery which houses many of his works - it is, in fact, said that many of his paintings were inspired by the panoramic views from some of the Palazzo Guardi windows. In addition to the main part of the hotel being in the palazzo itself, additional rooms are located in neighbouring historic buildings - all are spacious and truly elegantly decorated in a rich and traditional Venetian style.

Offering a warm and personal welcome, either Andrea or Lucio are nearly always on hand to assist guests and ensure they get to experience the best that Venice has to offer.

Palazzo Guardi Hotel is situated in the Dorsoduro district of Venice, the hotel is within easy walking distance of St. Mark's Square (10 minutes) and the Rialto Bridge (15 minutes).

"well worth a visit"
This Hotel was easy to find is you took the trouble to follow the directions given. A nice clean hotel, staff very helpful. Our room matched exactly the brochure lovely furnishings small, but immaculate shower room, clean towels and bedding everyday. Our room was off main reception area and we had none of the noise problems mentioned by previous reviewers. We would recommend this hotel and if we return to Venice we will definitely stay here again.

"Central Location, Lovely Little B&B"
We followed the directions the hotel/B&B provided us. We took the Valparetto #82. After asking only one directional question to a local, we found the front door in an alley looks more like a service alley than a main Venice 'street'. The lobby is located upstairs and after sending a scouting party up, the desk manager came down and told us that our room was in a different location. Uh, oh...I had heard horror stories about being in a 'different location'. After just a few steps around the corner, we were pleasantly surprised, not only by the fact that it was literally just steps away, but by the newness and cleanliness of this annex. It is located above one of the best restaurants in the Dorsodoro district and is just around the corner from the Accademia bridge. So, not only are you in a quieter, not so touristy area, but you are SO close to Valparettos, the Accademia Bridge and areas of Venice that are so fun to explore. You are minutes away from the hustle and bustle of Piazzo San Marco but so close that you can walk there in less than 10 minutes. Breakfasts were great as was the customer service. I was there with my two boys, ages 9 and 11 and would definitely stay there again and recommend it to all I know. Be sure to explore other parts of Venice besides the Rialto Bridge area and Piazza San Marco. Find restaurants away from these areas and have much less expensive and better meals!! And I highly recommend the Secret Itinerary Tour of the Doge's Palace. Ask the Palazzo Guardi to make a reservation for you (ahead of time) as they did for us!!

"Great Hotel !!!!"
Palazzo Guardi was a lovely hotel. The hotel is very clean and very well kept. Breakfast provided was good. The room was spacious and the washroom was big. Finding the hotel was easy as long as you follow the directions provided by the hotel. We showed our cab driver the map that was given to us by the hotel and he brought us right to the hotel. The cab ride was pricey at 100 Euro; altohough we were told that it was the going rate. The location is great. You are a 10-15 minute walk to St. Marks square. Along the walk you pass many shops and eateries that you can enjoy. The hotel is situated right next to the bus stop, so going to the train station or airport is easy to do with luggage. I would definatly stay here again. Great value.
