"Great value hotel"
Stayed 2 nights at Hotel Palmon Opera in early April 2005. It was part of a deal from shortbreaksbyeurostar and was within walking distance from the Gare du Nord train station. The hotel was in a fantastic location in Montmartre and several metro stations were easily accessible, to get to the big attractions like the Eiffel Tower. The rooms and the bathrooms inside the hotel are really quite small, but very clean, modern and most importantly quiet! The absence of noise from the other hotel rooms more than made up for the lack of space and after all - it's one of the most beautiful cities in the world so you will want to spend as little time as possible inside the hotel. We will definitely go back to stay at this hotel - it was a sensational holiday.

"Clean and Close to everything"
We had a nice stay at this clean and safe hotel close to the Eurostar terminal. The staff were very friendly and the hotel was close to shops and the metro station. We found it to be a very good base while we were on a weekend break in Paris. We would definitely return.

Our views!
We found the rooms small, but generally clean as far as bedding and bathroom goes. The floors and walls could use a good professional cleaning.
The front desk staff were very accomodating, but the breakfast staff could use some lessons in diplomacy.
The Hotel was well located for sightseeing and we walked to most of the major places to see. If I were returning to Paris, would definitely upgrade to a better rated hotel, although this was adequate for what we paid. |

"A great place and a great deal"
We loved the Palmon Opera - safe neighborhood, clean rooms, very helpful (and English-speaking) staff, lots of great bistros nearby. (Try the cafe au lait and croissants at Rizzo's at the end of the block, or Le Viking for dinner on the other side of Rue de Lafayette.) You can probably skip the hotel's 11 Euro breakfast - it wasn't that great. You can get more for a similar price from Monsieur Rizzo. It was the only thing that was not 100% perfect about the hotel, as far as I'm concerned.
The hotel is close to the Gare du Nord and the Cadet metro. Sacre Coeur and Montmartre are in walking distance (uphill all the way, though). Again, it seemed very safe - I arrived the day before my husband met me there, and I was fine. There are 2 or 3 internet cafes close to the Gare that are inexpensive and convenient. (Once you get used to the French keyboards!)
The staff went out of their way to be helpful each time we asked anything of them. The price was very reasonable, I thought. We were very happy there, and would stay there again the next time we go to Paris.
