Parco Dei Principi Hotel was designed and furnished throughout by Gio Ponti in 1962, and still preserves the designer's original work intact.

The thirty different floor tile designs, arranged in a variety of ways to make up different decors for each of the hundred rooms, are a perfect accompaniment for the ceramic pebbles and the Melotti majolica plates, creating an overall, harmonius blend of carefully chosen shades of white and blue.

LOCATION

Parco Dei Principi Hotel is sitting on a cliff-top in Sorrento, this Gio Ponti designed hotel overlooks the same bay as Naples and the island Capri.

PROPERTY AMENITIES

* The breakfast buffet is served in the dining room from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m.

* Restaurant Gio Ponti:
With a décor of blue and white tiles and patterned or pictorial majolica tiles and low-level lighting. Offers an international and Neapolitan cuisine. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

* Hotel Parco dei Principi can offer a 27.000 sq.mts secular park, sea-water swimming pool, private beach and a fully equipped wellness center. The large swimming pool is filled with sea water and was envisaged by Ponti more as a "pond for wood nymphs" than as a mere attraction for swimmers.

* The hotel has three rooms that can be used for conferences and meetings with different seating configurations such as theater or classroom styles. Audio-visual facilities are also available.

ROOM AMENITIES

* The 96 rooms still preserve their original Gio Ponti design and layout and are located on either side of the hotel to overlook the sea or the gardens from their terrace or balcony.

"Wonderful hotel"
Thanks to previous reviews, I refused to let the hotel give us a room in the Residenza and they tried quite hard despite the fact that my booking had specified that I would not accept a transfer! My advice is to specify when booking that you want the main hotel and stand firm - it's worth it. A lovely hotel with beautiful gardens and the staff were charming. We had a wonderful week and would definitely return.

"Beautiful Hotel, Great Staff"
I recently returned from touring Italy and Switzerland for two weeks with my husband and two teenage daughters. Turning into the driveway of the Parco Dei Principi was like going into another world. Because of other reviews, I had called the hotel previously to make sure we were in the main residence. I had spoken to Annalisa who was very kind and helpful. Apparently, all ocean front rooms are in the main residence. Our stay was very relaxing, and the hotel staff very warm and friendly. We spent two nights there and enjoyed the patio overlooking the bay so much that we ate there both nights. The meals were superb, and the staff marvelous. The hotel is a little removed from town, but the hotel shuttle left every hour to go into town and picked up at the same location at a quarter past the hour. We definitely enjoyed our stay. Our thanks go to Annalisa and the rest of the staff. I would recommend this hotel highly.

My husband and I have just returned from Italy - staying 4 nights at the Parco Dei Principi. I must admit, after reading some of the reviews I was quite wary of what to expect. I couldn't have been more wrong. The hotel staff were nothing but friendly, and helpful. The hotel is beautiful and commands such fantastic views across the bay of Naples with the majestic Mount Vessuivus in the background. Swags and tails the hotel may not be, but what you do get is comfortable, clean, cool and refreshing rooms in shades of blue and white, a welcome haven from the searing Italian sun. The food is excellent, the facilities second to none and we would return at the drop of a hat. Fresh towels were placed in our room (inconspicuously) twice a day, along with bathrobes and slippers. We had a room overlooking the garden, which is breathtaking. The pool (there are actually 2) is like something off a James Bond film set. My husband and I were made to feel really special and looked after, and it seemed that the staff were more than pleased if you tried a little Italian on them. If you want first class accommodation and hotel position that is second to none, then this is the hotel for you. Our parting message to the staff - Grazie di tutto, Ciao, ah presto, sums it all up.
