"Good hotel"
Located very near Victoria metro station, and close to many trolleybus stations, this hotel is on ideal position for visiting downtown Athens: close enough to visit all the important sites and far enough from ugly Omonia square.
The room was recently renovated, and it looks really OK - it is big enough, with comfortable twin bed and big bathroom. Windows are very good and noise from the heavy traffic in the street is not bothering you, even on lower floors. Although it was the beginning of May, the temperatures were very high, but the a/c did its job well.
This is my second jurney in Park hotel (I was here in 2005) and I will definitelly use it again.

"A thrilling surprise"
We chose the Park Hotel from a list of hotels available with our Transat Holiday tour package. Celebrating our 5th anniversary, we decided to choose as many 5 star hotels as possible. The Park was listed as one.
This hotel is situated across from Areo Park and one block away from the National Archaeological Museum and is considered a business hotel. We did notice quite a few tour clients there but it did not seem overcrowed with them (although July and Aug may prove different). We immediately liked the hotel when, although we arrived very early (before noon), the front desk promised our hotel room in a few mins. They served us an expresso in the pretty lobby and before we knew it, our luggage had been whisked away to our room while we relaxed.
Our hotel room the first two days was just a regular room, which we found clean, charming and comfortable. Mini bar and hairdryer available. We faced the back street which we did not mind as we were planning on site seeing anyway. The front desk, porters and restuarant staff were proper but were very helpful and kind. The chambermaids were always smiling and friendly.
The best feature of this hotel is the rooftop pool. It is very lovely with a stunning view. There is a restuarant just below (8th floor) with great views as well, and all staff we encountered there were fabulous. We ate in the hotel a few times downstairs and found it a little pricey but pretty good. The buffet breakfast, which I believe is included, has a good selection, although I never did get used to "scrambled eggs" in Greece. Runny or cheesy I couldn't figure it out.
We left for four days on a coach tour (wonderful) and then returned for one last night at the Park. To our surprise we were given a 7th floor room suite. We were sure it was a mistake but found an addressed invitation under the door inviting us to a party the hotel was having to celebrate their 30th birthday and an art show. We are pretty sure we were given the room and the invitation to the party because of their close proximity to each other (possibly noisy), but we didn't care. We enjoyed the view and beauty from our wrap around balcony first (Lycabettus Hill and Acropolis views) and then attended the ritzy roof top party complete with free drinks, served hor'dourves and live latin band. The food was great as were the drinks and we could not say enough good things about the staff. We had a great time, swaying to the music, watching the Hill and Acropolis glow in the night while sipping nice wine.
We recommend a stroll around the Museum and School, a visit to the Museum and a walk in the lovely Park across the street. We were able to walk to Lycabettus hill, but it is quite a hike and climb and it is VERY easy to get lost on the confusing but charming residential streets.

"Very good hotel, courteous staff, very good location"
I stayed there in a semi-professional and semi-pleasure trip in late May.
The experience from the hotel was very good, that extends to all aspects. The room was a fourth floor one on the back of the hotel that is oriented towards the centre of Athens. I had a view towards one of the hills around Athens, but it was a low floor to be able to view the Acropolis. The rest of the view was not special, but this is not a important point I believe! Room size was very good, and the same stands for the bathroom. The room was modern, well appointed and had everthing one would need, including a desk to work and high-speed internet access - when I needed an iron board it arrived immediately, and when I gave a suit for dry-clearning it was ready within a few hours.
The price was €140 including breakfast, which I believe was very competitive for such a hotel.
Hotel staff were courteous and attentive.
I saw some negative comments on breakfast, which surprised me. I was normally arriving late for breakfast, but there was always ample choice and the staff were very happy to bring any kind of coffee you wanted (apart from the standard coffee available) - funny, a couple of times I tried to give them a tip and they refused! I had a lot of trouble making them accept it!
There is a very nice swimming-pool on the roof where one can have drinks and food and from where one has views of the whole Athens. There is also a very good roof-top bar/restaurant with stunning views of Athens and of a park in front of the hotel.
The location is also very good in terms of convenience. There is a metro station about five minutes walk , from where you can go to a number of historic places, including Syntagma Square and the Acropolis. There are quite a few commercial shops very near the Hotel, and one can walk to the centre of Athens (Syntagma square) in about 20-25 minutes.
Just two small matters.
There was a leakage from the shower to the floor bathroom floor, which caused minor annoyance some times.
Breakfast could be served until later. I think it was until 10.30, but 11.00 or 11.30 would have been much more suitable for such a hotel.

"Got everything we asked for!"
Our family of four began our tour of Greece at the Park Hotel. I had requested a room with a view of the Acropolis, and what a view it was! Absolutely magnificent when lit up at night. The workout room had the equipment we needed, and the bar on the top floor was quite sophisticated. Whenever I made a request at the front desk, whether for directions or dinner reservations, I received a prompt response. I would definitely stay here again!

"Your Perfect Home in Athens!"
Took a 16-day land/cruise of Greece and Turkey for our 25th wedding anniversary and chose to stay at the Park Hotel in Athens (on our friends' recommendation) June 12-14, 17, & 25, 2004. They were right! Not only was the place very clean and beautiful; and the rooms spacious and impeccably decorated; the Front Reception staff, especially Xenophon greeted us with politeness, and dealt with our room "problem" with patience, and with the highest form of professionalism (we had requested 2 rooms adjacent to each other so my husband and I could be near our 2 children, but when we checked in our rooms were far apart); and the bellboy (how could I forget his name..the tall, bald, handsome young gentleman); and of course Mr. Yannis Kitsos, who personally welcomed us and saw to it that we were accommodated in the best rooms possible with the highest standard of service, and even surprised us with a basket of fruits and cold drinks for our anniversary. That was so very warm and thoughtful of him. Only in Greece can such hospitality be felt!
The Park Hotel's location is perfect!.....you could admire the view of the Parthenon (the exact view that was always shown on TV during the 2004 Olympics), Lycabettus hill, and Garden Park from the balcony of the seventh floor; and just walk to the transport line, boutiques, shops and Museum. There is a very clean, refreshing pool and sauna on the rooftop, overlooking the impressive view of Athens, and a pool bar offering exotic drinks; a complete array of workout equipment at the fitness room made our teenage son ecstatic; and the breakfast buffet selection was superb! with very friendly and competent wait staff.
Needless to say, our 25th anniversary celebration was perfect because of the Park Hotel's warm welcome at the start, and end of our tour!
Everyone should definitely make Park Hotel their home when in Athens.
Thanks very much to you all Park Hotel Athens staff!
