"Loved the Food and the Bed"
We had booked the three days in December 2004, for a convention that took place in July 2005, and we were delighted with the welcoming foyer, its coolness helped overcome tiredness.
We found the staff all very helpful and the rooms were spacious and comfortable and the bed was fantastic, I suffer spinal arthritis and the bed did not make it worse.normally hotel beds aggravate it, this one didn`t.
The food was excellent and plenty of it..the dining room was air conditioned and there were Americans, japanese,Canadians,Austrians and many more various Nationalities..
I reccomend Jurys Hotel In Cardiff

"Room/bathroom ultra clean, v comfortable huge bed"
The dark green decor with red brick steps in the reception areas (which I found dismal & looked dirty) gave a false impression of what the bedrooms would be like. Ours was lovely: probably newly refurbished it was faultlessly clean; the bed huge and extremely comfortable with good quality linen. The TV was a new plasma screen which tests the IQ when trying to turn it on (look at the side, towards the back for the power button). This feature seems to be the price trendy designers are incorporating in just about everything right now because you certainly need your glasses on to work out sorting out the shower controls too!
Reading through other reviews I noticed comments about the heat in the rooms. We were on the 2nd floor & found the room pretty hot too but could not find any heating controls anywhere. Because of its 'traffic island' location it is noisy outside, so you cannot keep the window open at night without early morning noise (& prob late night from the nearby Arena at times ??) It was OK for us in Sept but on a hot summer night, it might well be uncomfortably hot.
We found the staff attitude & manner rather brusque. Free parking.
The location is v good as you can see from a map. Recommend a visit to the superb Cardiff Museum, an easy stroll away past some shops. There is a fascinating 'evolution of Wales' from which I learnt much about the earth's crust/plate movements going back some 500 million years ago & the fact that Britain (with a short exception when there was a 'land bridge' between us & France) has been an island for over 430 million years.
