"a typical business hotel"
Park Inn Island Hotel Reykjavik is a typical business hotel, located about 1.5 kilometers from downtown Reykjavik. The rooms on the west side have a nice view of the bay. Services and staff are all satisfactory, the only problem is that if you go during the colder months (October through mid April) it can be a bit chilly walking to downtown. Being outside of the city center can be an advantage, however, if you're a light sleeper. |

"Nice place to stay"
The best thing about this hotel was that our rooms were available when we got there at 8 a.m. We thought we would have to wait until much later in the day to check in. They even let us eat breakfast. The breakfast buffet was very good and had a wide variety of food to choose from, including breads, meats, eggs, cereals, fruits, and yogurt. The rooms were kept neat and clean. It was out of the way but was a great location if you rented a car. It was very easy to get out of the city. Parking downtown wasn't a big problem later in the day. We were very pleased with the service at the hotel. The lobby was full of people smoking. This was a big difference for the American traveler, since smoking is prohibited just about everywherein the States. If you hate cigarette smoke, you have to hold your breath from the front door to the elevators.

"nice stay"
Stayed at the hotel for a long weekend break. The rooms were nice and clean and the staff were friendly. The breakfast room is somewhat small and I imagine it gets busy when the hotel is full. The breakfast itself was okay and quite a choice for people. As stated numerous times on this site the Hotel is some distance from the centre of Reykjavik. Over the weekend I walked it a number of times and providing you head for the sea its quite a nice walk around to the harbour.
