"enjoyable stay"
I visit this hotel on a regular basis and was very surprised to read these reviews. I have been staying at this hotel atleast twice a week over the past year (2006) and feel that it has become a home from home.
I do agree the standard rooms are a little dated but the crown rooms are lovely. Very fresh and modern. The food they serve is to a high standard which never faulters.
The whole team at the Park Inn go out of there way the help, often going beyond the call of duty. Staying as often as I do I have seen some team members suffer unbelievable abuse but they handle this with nothing but an outstanding professional attitude. What people forget is that the reception team did not build the hotel, did not decorate the rooms, did not choose the location and did not pick the colour scheme!
Overall people should remember the one simple rule - treat people the way in which you wish to be treated.

"Pleasantly Suprised"
I stayed at the hotel in January as I was working in the area. I read some reviews before my stay and was quite worried about what I was letting myself in for.
I must say I was pleasantly suprised as I had a lovely stay.
Rooms - are a little dated but it was clean and spacious and I was told that the hotel will be under going refurbishment some time this year so it would be nice to return to see what the hotel is like after refurbishment.
Restaurant - the food was good and served with a smile from the very helpful restaurant staff.
Pool and Gym - I found it was a lovely extra to have such facilities in a hotel of this standard, and the use of these facilities were included in my stay.
Reception - it took no time at all to get checked in. The receptionist gave me some great ideas on local attractions and the best way to get to them.
The bull ring is a must for great shopping and I also visited the sea life centre which is also in Birmingham.
Location - is good, very easy to find. Free car parking and close to the train station for those who need to get into Birmingham.
Overall I enjoyed my stay and I'm looking forwards to returning with my partner after the refurbishment to go shopping at the bull ring again!
