"Great Location - Helpful Staff"
The Mayfair location is great and the room price was too. I was worried about some of the negative reviews but, happily, this wasn't what I found. The staff was helpful - suggesting good restaurant choices in nearby Shepard's Market. The hotel setting is amazingly quiet. With the window open, the loudest sounds were from jets flying high over central London. There was a variety of quality selections at the breakfast buffet. The restaurant manager added a touch of class each morning by deftly removing the unused table settings when I sat down.
The rooms are compact and a bit worn - but everything tidy and clean. (I told the desk about a light fixture that didn't work and it was repaired when I got back from a walk). It's a place I'd return to and recommend to friends.

"Something to Mewow about"
In late September, we stayed 3 nights at the Parklane Mews hotel on Stanhope. Years ago we stayed there when it was the Mews Hilton. The Mayfair location is excellent and while noisy in the morning, it is very quiet at night. We easily walked down Piccadilly and to and from the theater area. The rooms are a bit worn and small but the bathrooms are clean and bright. Considering the cost of hotels in London, the Mews included a buffet breakfast and was an excellent value.
Behind the hotel down Shepherd Street is an enclave of restaurants and small shops.
We ate at the Lebanese restaurant, Sofa and had a wonderful lunch. Though expensive, if ammortized over two meals, it was a bargain at 8.95 pounds. The meals include hummus, bread and olives. My entree was enough to feed two people and included chips! I had the chicken wings which came with soup and salad. My husband had two salad entrees. We ate also at the Italian restaurant down the block but I do not remember the name of it. It too, was excellent.
I also highly recommend the tour of Buckingham Palace, which currently has an exhibit of the Queen's gowns and jewels. The Victoria and Albert Museum has a spectacular DaVinci exhibit. Tickets are available online for these two exhibits and I recommend doing so before you leave. Though w/ the V&A, you can only do it 48 hours ahead of time. Buckingham Palace is open only while the Queen is at Balmoral. Senior citizen prices also offer a considerable savings.

"Better location than expected"
We booked this via Expedia and got a lower rate - approx £50off the published rate but this was for room-only. The hotel was behind the Hilton in Park Lane so nice and central for shopping and theatres - approx £8 by taxi. The Hard Rock Cafe is about 3 minutes walk. Because the hotel is shielded by the Hilton and Dorchester, it is a fairly quiet location and you can hardly hear the Park Lane traffic. We stayed in a room overlooking the mews but at 4am the bins were emptied and for 20 minutes it was chaos. Ask for a room at the back of the hotel if you dont want to be woken up.
The room-service breakfast for 1 is enough for 2 easily, and costs £22. Breakfast down stairs is eaten at a low table in reception
The room was small as all London hotels are, but not a shoe-box. and there was plenty of storage space. The bathroom had Moulton Brown toiletries |

"great little hotel"
We were a little scared of what we'd find at this hotel because there were no reviews for it, but we thought we'd give it a try considering the awesome location and bargain price. We got it through a discount hotel website. There were a couple of problems though. When checking in, they had absolutely no record of our pre paid reservation through the discount website, thank goodness we had a copy of the reservation with us and they checked us right in (they still seemed very confused though).
Then we were given a very moldy smelling room and had to ask for a better room. Luckily, they were very quick and pleasant to move us to a much better room.
The buffet breakfast was amazing. Very good food with a great variety and quality.
We would defintely stay here again, you can't find a bargain like this anywhere.
