red carpet
stayed for a weekend last autumn,it was friendly, modern, comfortable and although I'm sure it wasn't for us, there was a red carpet out when we arrived. I would definately recommend it for your city break. |

"Excellent Hotel"
Exellent customer service, modern and tasteful decor in spacious and clean room. Good food in hotel restaurant with a nice lively atmosphere with a good variety of music. Spa facilities also nice and clean. Great location opposite bars and clubs.
After our night on the town we ended up back in the hotel bar till 3am.
We made an excellent choice.

"Wonderful time"
Stayed at Park Plaza, Cardiff for two nights, Sat & Sun in February in a superior room on the 4th floor
It's very modern, stylish and chic - more importantly, the staff from reception thru waiting staff thru housekeeping are a credit to this establishment - friendly and helpful from check-in to check-out
My partner used the pool which was great
Help yourself to as much/little breakfast as you wish, chosing from full Welsh (great variety) or cold buffet (also good)
Rooms were very clean and the bathrooms a delight (esp the shower, which was one of the best I've experienced)
The bar was cool and jazzy - the music added to the ambience (some great soul and jazz!); average prices for a city but a wide selection of drinks and cocktails
Whilst there is no parking on site, an NCP is opposite and you can get a reduced rate (£10 per full day) from the hotel itself
As we only live 30 mls from Cardiff, this was a rare occasion when we stopped over to take advantage of some great Cardiff nightlife and events
Personally I cannot wait for the next excuse to stay at this hotel - it was a pleasure from start to finish

"Super location, super everything!"
I travel to Cardiff often to visit my starving student daughter and have found this place due to disappointment with the St David's Spa.
What a revelation! It is Scandinavian owned and really shows others how it should be done.
I am lucky enough to have stayed in top quality hotels all over the world think this hotel has the edge on The Driskill in Austin..which is the favourite of many American Presidents.
The genuine attention to detail is exceptional, from adding an extra bathrobe, slippers, beverages and cups in the room for a 3rd guest; to the cocooning you from capital city noises with wonderful triple glazing (Scandinavian know-how) Little tip though; the computer recognises you've opened the minibar even if it's just for a sneak-peak!
The in room entertainment LG equipment is very good allowing you to lie on the bed picking up your own emails from the wireless keyboard.
I would wholehearted recommend this hotel. The restaurant is fabulous with excellent value meals offering a roast every day for £12 (Feb 07) and wonderful puddings (try the panacotta)
Parking is kept to £10 per 24hrs which in Cardiff is AMAZING value. Breakfast was tip top with wonderful fresh baked pastries and croissants.
Don't worry...you'll love it.

"What an Hotel!"
Just got home from a FANTASTIC stay at the Park Plaza in Cardiff. I've never really heard of the chain before, but I'll DEFINITELY be staying with them again!
The staff were very welcoming and friendly and seemed like they really enjoyed helping you - very rare in many hotels in Cardiff, and I've stayed, or at least visited most!
The rate seemed very reasonable for the style of hotel and I was a little cynacle when my friends suggested saying there because of the low price, however my doubts were completely unfounded. This is a top class 4 star hotel that easily rivals the 5 stars in Cardif and in fact beats them on many fronts. The decor was modern, and yet warm. The rooms had a fresh and open feel and had all of the mod-cons from mini-bar to wireless internet.
One last note on the restaurant, the dinner menu was varied, and you could choose "small" or "large" plates of each of the dishes - I think this is a GREAT idea!

"Excellent Business Hotel"
I usually stay at the Hilton when in Cardiff, but was peeved that their expensive rate didn't include breakfast.
Got a really good rate at the Park Plaza and was very impressed. The hotel is ultra modern, with cool darkwood interiors in the public areas.
Very friendly and efficient reception staff. The bedrooms was high ceilinged and airy with a comfortable bed and excellent, stylish bathroom. Housekeeping was of the highest possible standard. Wifi was available free of charge.
Minor gripes were the absence of a trouser press (ALL decent hotels should have one) and a breakfast that could have been hotter. These, however, did not detract from the overall experience. The Park Plaza is a top quality hotel and deserves to do well. I will probably stay there again (sorry, Hilton).
Very highly recommended.

"An Excellent Choice For Cardiff"
I am a travel agent who spent 2 nights at this hotel in October 2005. Excellent location, just 1 block from Cardiff Castle, several restaurants, shopping, and several sights. Front desk staff were very friendly, recommending several restaurants for meals. Room was large with excellent beds, and clean, modern bathroom. Internet access in room. Morning breakfast buffet was included and had hot and cold choices. Very good selection and tasty. Lobby is modern with lovely fireplaces. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone going to Cardiff.

WOW what a hotel !
we had one night here last weekend,its stunning !
having read the reviews we were looking forward to it and we werent disappointed,the room was fabulous.
everything from the staff,cleanliness,decor,food etc was of a high standard
wish we could have stayed longer and will definitely be going back !
