Built in 1860, this detached Victorian town house was once an elegant family home and is situated near the heart of Scotland's ancient Capital. The hotel is approximately one and a half miles from Waverley Station and Princes Street on an excellent bus route.
The hotel over looks the historic Leith Links where the rules of golf were drawn up and where Mary Queen of Scots learnt the game. There are many excellent restaurants bars and wine bars and of course the former Royal Yacht Britannia in the exciting new developments of the old port of Leith nearby. |

"excellent hotel"
We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights during August.
The Hotel is in an excellent location, there is a tube stop just a half minute walk away and the Champs elysees just a 5 minute walk.
The mini bar prices were very expensive, but there is a supermarket across the road which was very useful.
We had breakfast bought to our room every morning with a selection of croissants, rolls, yogurt and fruit.
The room was bright, clean and nicely decorated and overlooked the small courtyard.
All in all we had an excellent time and would recommend this hotel without hesitation.

"Extremely pleased with the Rochester.."
Stayed at this lovely hotel last weekend for my husband's 40th!!
We had a very nice room and the hotel staff were lovely. This place is very central and 50 yards from the metro. I would certainly stay here again.....
