"Fabulous Location"
You can't beat the location of the Parthenon Hotel (also known as the Airotel Parthenon)...just steps to the Plaka, steps from the Metro and steps from the Acropolis. I read the reviews about the hard beds (yes there are but that is through most of Europe) and yes the rooms are a little small (based on Canadian standards), but hey, you're in fabulous Greece! The hotel staff are wonderful, extremely helpful, eager to please, very friendly and absolutely no language problems. We stayed 3 days, had some of our luggage stored while we visited the islands of Ios and Santorini, and our luggage was waiting in our room when we returned a week later. Great breakfast, lots to choose from. I was travelling alone with my daughter and her friend and we felt very safe. No traffic sounds whatsoever. Lots of restaurants, tavernas, shops nearby. You just can't beat the location. I found it to be a tremendous value for what we paid. Definitely coming back to the Parthenon Hotel.

"Exactly what we expected. Location can't be beat."
My husband and I are in our late 20's and have already had our share of European hotels. The Parthenon was perfect for what we were looking for. Our room was located on the 4th floor with a patio view of the apartments next door. I took a few pictures so look for them under the Candid Hotel Photos. One thing I absolutely loved was the shower pressure. It was better than the pressure I have at home! The bathrooms have the standard amenities like shampoo, conditioner, soap and even a sewing kit. I used the blow dryer daily and I loved the little vanity mirror they had so I could get ready each morning. Our room came with a mini-fridge that had water, beer, liquor and a few other drinks that weren't too expensive. The Parthenon's location couldn't be beat. We were a block from the metro (which we took to & from the airport), a few blocks from the Tram, which took us to Glyfada for an evening, and steps from all of the sites to see. Overall, we enjoyed the Parthenon and would definitely stay there again.

"I am happy I chose to stay at Parthenon"
I stayed for a week at Parthenon with my wife and my 2 daughters. I have been on vacation in many places around the world and I received good services in many of the hotels, but Parthenon people made me feel special. Every time I asked for a small favor or for such services as calling a taxi, the people at the front desk, the bell boys, or the floor cleaning people were very pleasant and very professional. On the top of all was Georgia, a beautiful young lady (maybe at my elders daughter’s age) at the front desk. She was always very helpful, and ready to give helpful tips and suggest places to go and see. Georgia is definitely management material. I highly recommend Airotel Parthenon for any one visiting Athens, Greece for business or pleasure.

"Great Location/Deecent Hotel"
My friend and I stayed here for 3 nights in April 2005. We booked it at the airport as it was the best way to get discounted rooms. They have last minute deals at a desk on the first floor/arrivals area. We paid 74EURO/night. It was easy to get to the Acropolis subway station from the airport by train. Don't take the bus. It takes way too long. We had to change trains once and then it was one stop. We asked the station attendent which exit to use and then we walked two minutes to find the hotel. The view from our room was nothing great but we could see a slice of the Acropolis if we leaned off the balcony which we thought was funny. The location was great for the Plaka Area and other sights. We never needed a taxi and we only used the subway twice. We had a room with a double bed at first and it was too small and really hot so they put us in a room with 2 beds and that was much, much better. I'd ask for the room with 2 beds again. The bathroom was large and very, very clean and the water pressure in the shower was the best we had in 16 days in the Greek Islands. It was a welcomed treat. The breakfast was decent and nothing special. The usual mid-range hotel selection and quality. The fresh squeezed orange juice in the bar was great (not free). We will stay there again next year when we leave the islands if it is available when we arrive at the airport. I could not find a cheap 4-star room in or near the Plaka area on the internet and that is why I waited until we arrived in Athens because I knew that there was a desk there that offers rooms on the arrival day heavily discounted. It was worth it. Not sure if I would believe the reviewer from 2003. I wish I had read the review before my review as I never knew that there was a roof terrace! Oh well, maybe next year!
