"Still a favourite"
Have stayed here before and loved it and opinion has not changed.
Great location and service and comfortable rooms. Strangely though we are a family of 5 and every time we have stayed, we get allocated rooms on seperate floors but manage to have an interconnecting room with someone else! On this stay the neighbours were particularly noisy with an unsettled young child wthat cried a lot at night.
The hotel does lack a lounge or seating area on the ground floor if you just want to sit and wait or meet up with somebody. There is a small seating area tucked away near the main entrance where people wait for transfers or tours but that's all. You can sit in the cafe area only if you buy something to eat or drink.
Excellent buffet breakfast but dining room has become smaller and more congested with recent renovations. Some of our group used the pool/ spa etc and found it was excellent
Will be back!.

"Good Central Hotel! Excellent for shoppers at MBK!"
We chose this hotel for 3 nights after reading positive reviews and wanted to be next to MBK for my wife to indulge in shopping without having to sweat it out in getting there.
Last minute booking hence neither agoda nor asiarooms could help. The hotel was apparently running 80% full. Hence booked through dusit website (not pprincess which was surprisingly costlier) and shelled out a quite more for low season .Sadly, didn't even have breakfast included at this price. Chose a deluxe as was only $10 more than superior.
The limo transfer was over priced for a 45 ride which usually costs Bt 400 - 500, however it was hassle free.
Had requested for an early-checkin and a room was made available 2 hrs prior to check-in time.
The corner rooms are deluxe so they are either facing the pool and city or MBK. We got the pool view. However one morning a low thumping noise started. I called up reception to complain, and was told that the M floor below us had some construction going on and should stop by noon. We got back in the evening but the thumping was still on. On speaking to the guest relations manager we finally got another room higher up and a bowl of fruit for the discomfort. The guy at the concierge desk was always smiling and eager to help with information. The gym is very well equipped , the pool is clean. Its definitely a 4 star standard.

"Simply Fabulous!"
My family just came back from Bangkok and the hotel we stayed was Pathumwan Princess (According to my Thai tour guide, it is a 5 stars hotel compared to Novotel and Arnoma hotel in Bangkok).
When i first stepped into the hotel, i was so impressed! The lobby is huge and the fixtures and furniture are so high-tec and high class! Can you imagine that they are people playing Cello and Violin at the lobby! We were received by the hotel staff with a welcome drink. The hotel staff were so friendly. The following are my comments:
1) Superior Room - Very clean and nice. Toilet is huge and clean too!
2) Swimming pool - The pool size is Olympic size and with 2 sheltered spa like jacuzzi (38deg).
3) Breakfast - The spread was fantastic. Bistro cafe is huge and beautiful. However, if they could change their breakfast menu daily then it would be heaven!
4) MBK Centre - The biggest shopping complex in Bangkok! It is connected to the hotel lobby. So convenient! The shopping was fantastic. Food also reasonable price. Clothing and shoes were cheaper than i thought. However, if you wish to buy toys for kids, there wasn't many toy shops in MBK though.
You can bargain with the taxi and mini taxi for the rate to ferry you to your desire destination. They go by meter reading. Don't be deceived by their "Shouting" of taxi fare. Tell them to go by meter reading.
Overall my family enjoyed the trip very very much apart from the hot weather. I will definitely stay in Pathumwan Princess for my next trip.

"Great service"
I wont go on about all the things you probably have already heard about such as great location etc. We stayed here for 2 nights on our way home from Phuket. We had a standard room that was very clean and tidy. We did not spend a great deal of time in our room but from the first moment in the hotel we were impressed. We were early for our check-in but our room was ready. Every time we wanted to go somewhere the concierge would get us a map, tell us how to get there, how much it would cost and the best way to travel. Then at the front of the hotel they will call you a taxi. These things made staying here the best. Bangkok is a very big city and can be difficult to get around in and we often felt that everybody wanted to rip us off, the PP lessoned this and were all very helpful. Their English is quite good, much better than we found anywhere else in Thailand on our travels. Upon check-in we were given an extended checkout time of 2pm (normal checkout 11or 12) as we had didn’t have to leave for our flight home until 5pm. They kept out bags for 3 hours until we left. When we went to get our bags they even had a set of scales there so we could check we were under the baggage limit for our flight.
The breakfast I thought was ok, a hotel of this standard I would have expected better. Things like eggs not cooked enough, and some of the food in bain-maries was cold. Overall definitely edible but we stayed at a place in Phuket that had been much better and only 3 star. I would definitely recommend staying at this hotel firstly for service and next for great location.
