"Brilliant!!!"
we went on a package deal to Phuket and stayed in Patong beach hotel. This was a fantastic experience. MASSIVE rooms with a lounge area and balcony, excellent breakfasts, you can eat someting diffrent everyday for 2 weeks! and fantastic service. The restaurant is great if you are nervous eating out and prices are extremely reasonable. It is across from the beach and there is a laundry across the road ( doubles as an internet cafe) where they will launder your clothes for a couple of dollars for a weeks worth of washing. I am going again next year and have recommended the hotel to everyone I have met.

This hotel is absolutely perfect. It is a solid 4 star hotel so if you read that it is 2 star somewhere ignore that. The hotel has a large beautiful pool you can spend your entire day at. The rooms are large and well furnished and beautiful. The staff is very friendly and the food at the breakfast buffet and restaurant during the day are great. I loved the place. It is also located right smack dab in the center of town across the street from the beach and down the road from the wild bar street. It is absolutely one of the best places I ever stayed and would highly recommended it. The only downside is that of you check in alone and meet someone and want to bring her back to your room they charge you an additional 3000 Bhatt ($75) per night visitation charge. This does keep riff raff out though.

We were there in Nov/Dec 2005 and this is without a doubt THE BEST PLACE I have ever been, in my life! The entire stay from go to whoa was unforgettable. They welcome you with a cocktail at reception, then take your bags to the most well presented and comfortable rooms I’ve been to. The rate this a 3.5star hotel ??? It felt like a 10. The staff couldn’t do enough to help you, the rooms newly furnished, well maintained and cleaned daily, bed was extremely comfortable (unlike our stay at the Indra Regent hotel, Bangkok! ) bar staff always greeted you by name (after only meeting you once) followed by a smile, the pool is massive and decked out with lay back chairs, the continental breakfasts were amazing as were the light meals (toasted sandwiches, spaghetti bolognaise, burgers and chips etc.) at the pool bar and the massages in their health spa centre are to die for and very reasonably priced. On top of all that, you’re directly across the road from the beach, around the next corner to the nightlife and right in the middle of all the markets and shops. The people there have recovered so well from the Tsunami, you could barely even tell it had happened at all. Everything was up and running as normal, with the only tell tale signs, when we were there, was that they were relaying the cement pavement at the top of the beach that must’ve been ripped up, other than that, nothing. I went with my boyfriend and 4 friends and we could’ve stayed for months, 7 nights is just not long enough here. Anything else you wanna know, my emails at the top.
