For the culture and art lovers head to the gothic quarter which is a 10 minute walk to admire the architect and Barcelona Cathedral. In the evening head to the Gran Teatro del Liceo to watch an Opera.

The Petit Palace Opera Garden hotel is also a 30 minute walk to the beach for those looking to soak up some sun during the summer months.

To get around the city, the Liceu metro is a 5 minute walk which can take you around most of the city. Many of the buses depart from here also.

"Great Hotel, Great Location"
Took my Mum here for her 60th. When we arrived we were booked into a superior room which had a double bed. I asked for a twin and the helpful receptionist gave us a family room. The room was massive with loads of room for us to relax. There are 2 parts to the hotel. 1 which is located above the reception area, the other you have to walk outside, up some steps and through a fabulous garden, terraced area. It is very secure and felt safe. We were helped with our bags to our room. Great Hotel, friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast is continental. We only ate there as it was part of our accomodation, but i wouldn't have paid to eat there out of choice. It was very nice, fresh and always plenty. No english fry ups (thank god), lots of fruit, yogurts, pastries of every description, bread, cheese, ham, meats, fruit juices etc. The beds were hard, but welcoming after a long day walking around Barcelona. Always had clean towels and the room was always cleaned to a high standard. I would certainly stay here again if visiting Barcelona. I was worried after reading some of the reviews, but do not, it is maintained to a high standard, very modern and the staff are friendly and speak fairly good english. Very centrally located if visiting all the hots spots of Barcelona. I am very pleased i choose this hotel. Very reasonable rates. You get what you pay for.

"Very Stylish"
Really loved the swish and contemporary look of this hotel. Managed to get an excellent rate from hotels.com at 65% off the hotels standard rates. The rooms and bathrooms are of an excellent standard. One down side to the hotel is that they can only manually switch from aircon or heat in summer and winter. Although it was November, it was particularly humid and the rooms very hot. They were unable to switch any air-conditioning on and suggested opening a window! The breakfast buffet was very good and the staff very attentive. With it’s perfect location, I would recommend this hotel but check out what offers you can get first as it’s not the cheapest.

"Centrally located & well equipped rooms @ Petit Palace Opera GR"
Centrally, but quietly, located in a pedestrian street just off the Ramblas, the Petit Palace Opera Garden Ramblas was an ideal location for a few days in Barcelona. It was 5 minutes walk from Plaza Catalunya and the airport bus terminus, a minute from the Rambla, and 2 minutes from the Cathedral. We requested a quiet room and were given one overlooking the rear garden. Our room was upgraded to a Hi Tech room, which included a massage jet shower, flat screen TV & installed laptop (free connection). The bed seemed bigger than king size, and was very comfortable (room 1305), probably the best night's sleep ever in a hotel. Part of the Hi-Tech group, I believe the hotel was recently refurbished/opened, and is decorated in a modern minimalist style with a colour scheme of black, white and orange! Safe boxes in the room were free, and operated with your own credit card. The breakfast room and other public areas were a bit on the stark side. Comprehensive buffet breakfast. We paid euros 113 plus taxes for 2 of us, per night including breakfast. The published rate at reception was euros 275 (not sure if that was a standard room or hi-tech price). Overall, a good choice for a short break, where central location and a good night's sleep is important!

"Great Location, fantastic rooms"
Just returned from a three day trip to Barcelona. Stayed at Petit Palace Opera Garden, a 5 minute walk from the bus stop after getting of the 'Autobus' from the airport, about a 30 min journey. The hotel is located just off a side street, on the Ramblas, and near cathedral. We did had to stop several times and ask for its location, it was easy enough to find. Hotel was very modern and contemporary, which if not your style then you will hate it. the corridors are black but have interesting sensor lighting. We stayed in a triple room (sleeps 4) and found we had plenty of room, although we were not really in the room for any long periods other than to sleep. the decor is interesting and and furniture funky/basic, all you need for a short break. Big bathrooms with hairdryer. TV and safe in room, which is activated by your credit/debit/phone card which there was no charge for. The only comment for this is two/three nights in this room is probably enough as there are no tea/coffee making facilities, but other than that perfect for a short break. Plenty of restuarants/bars/shops in the very near vicinity but try and venture a little further as there are loads of different things to do/see. We went to Hard rock cafe which was about a 5 min walk from the hotel at the top of La Ramblas. the open top bus tour was worth every penny and gives you the opportunity to get on and off the bus as you wish. The best way to find out where to go if you are not sure is ask a few people who will point you in the right direction. Take a phrase book as little english spoken in some of the restaurants and menus are quiet difficult to translate. Overall a fantastic weekend break and would go back and stay in the hotel again, although would book direct with them as it is much much cheaper.

"Great Location in the middle of Las Ramblas"
3 Girls on a shopping trip rooms were very clean everything was spotless, bed linen, towels etc. Didn't eat in the Hotel so can't comment on the food. The staff were very helpful and friendly. We had a family room which consisted of twin beds pushed together and two bunk beds very comfortable. The bathroom was spotless and cleaned everyday . The rooms were a little bit small but perfect for a short stay. The location was very central, easy to get to from the Airport €25.00 for Taxi.
