"Lots of charm, far from Parliament"
I stayed at the Olims a couple of years ago for a week and loved it. They upgraded me to a room that has a living room/kitchen on the main floor and a bedroom and bathroom in a loft. It was a terrific place to stay. Breakfast and service were both excellent. The only drawback is that while it is close to a major shopping center and central business district, it is across the lake from the Parliament building, Treasury, etc. So if that is important to you, stay elsewhere. I would definitely stay at the Olims again.

"Beautiful Hotel"
Stayed on Business, great location, within walking distance to CBD.
Large modern rooms with excellent internet dial up facilities.
Warm and friendly staff, great value for money.

"An interesting hotel"
The rooms here are very good each one I have stayed in has been a double story with bedroom and bathroom upstairs and spacious sitting room and kitchenette down stairs. A kitchen kit is available at an extra charge - haven't tried it. The kitchen facilities are dated but adequate I guess. Broadband internet access is available but has some problems. Dining facilities in the hotel are interesting - a Thai based menu that also offers traditional Aussie dishes. The only Aussie item I tried was terrible in my opinion but other diners seemed satisfied. The Thai menu was OK but nowhere as good as you would get in Melbourne.
Close to Civic and to the Sage gourmet restaurant which I really enjoyed.
Worth a stay but I will dine outside the hotel if I stay there again.

"Wonderful"
We held our wedding reception at Pittodrie House and couldn't recommend it enough, The Setting is Gorgeous, The staff are friendly and not one of our guests had any compaints (ok maybe about the cost of the drinks).

"Traditional, picturesque.. A wonderful experience"
Me and my partner stayed one night here for our anniversary last year and I must say I was highly impressed! The setting is indescribable.. just stunning! It was so romantic walking around the extremely wellkept grounds, with Bennachie in sight. The dinner was delicious, the steak was gorgeously tender and the sauce was so tasty!.. I reccomend the profiteroles! The bedroom was quaint, traditional and lovely leaving you with the feeling that you stepped back a few centuries (but in a good way).. and this brought about a lovely romantic feeling. Some other reveiwers seem like they would be more suited to a very modern, more sterile and less welcoming hotel.
The staff were faultless, one girl in particular called Shonagh with long dark hair was simply a gem, so polite and attentive.. a lovely lass! All in all, of course I would come back! Manages to be informal and formal simultaneously, with a rather homely feel where you can reach optimum comfort and peace of mind! I plan to return.

"Fantastic stay!"
I am quite shocked to read the disappointing reviews made by others on this site!
I enjoyed an absolutely fantastic weekend stay at Pittodrie House Hotel. I attended my daughters wedding there and i must say, it was just stunning. Everything was all done 1 step ahead of when we thought about it. Niall, the hotel manager and Shonagh were there to greet us and made our daughters day absolutely fantastic. They conducted the wedding reception in such a professional fashion. The day went without a hitch. The rooms were very nice, although i heard they are due to be decorated. The hotel has just had a complete make-over and it really was worth it! The meal was lovely, fantastic local produce.
All in all, beautiful hotel, with breath-taking surroundings, will definately return soon...perhaps next time just for a break away from it all!
