"Overpriced"
The hotel is in an excellent location and all rooms have balconies with a good view of the beach. The breakfast was also excellent. During our stay, the beach was not crowded like that in Copacabana. We had a very pleasant experience but felt that the hotel was overpriced. Towels in the room were not changed everyday. Most hotel staff could speak English and were very helpful.

"A Great Choice"
This is definitly one of the best hotels you can book in Rio! It may not look like much from the outside, but the deluxe rooms are very nice, spacious and clean.
And the real benefit is that you have a balcony with every room (something that most if not all of the other hotel on Ipanema beach are missing) - sitting on your balcony at night watching the football games going on at the beach right below is something not to miss :-)
The location is also great - it is a very save area (I as a woman had not worries walking around, and it also felt ok at night!), right on the border between Leblon and Ipanema, with a lovely stretch of beach in fron of the hotel and good shopping options two block behind.
Staff was also nice and helpful (though they could have smile a little more often), and the hotel's bar on the very top surprisingly offers the best Caipirinhas we've had in Rio :-)

"We really liked it"
We stayed there for two nights. I chose this hotel for two main reasons: location and ocean view, I was not disappointed by any of these aspects.
Location is very good and safe, we never had a problem. There are many stores and restaurants around.
Our triple room on the 6th floor was big, nice and clean, and the decoration was very charming, but its best feature was definitely the view of Ipanema beach, also from the room I could see Corcovado.
The bathroom was nice, but most of the time smelled like fried food and the shower drain was a little plugged.
Breakfast was good and tasty and the restaurant has a beautiful view of Ipanema beach but I’d recommend going to the bar on the 17th floor where breakfast is also served, the view from there is amazing.
The roof terrace is very nice with spectacular views of Leblon and Ipanema beaches, the roof top pool may be small, but for me it was fine.
Service was good and efficient, whenever we needed something we called the reception and within 5 minutes a staff member came to our room to help us. All the people in the hotel were very kind, especially the doormen.
I was worried about the comments in the last reviews regarding credit card cloning therefore we kept our card with us all the time.
