"Good Hotel"
We stayed here recently as part of a large group and had no problems during our stay. We had a triple room which was more than big enough for all of us. There was a safe in our room which was handy although the hairdryer wasn't powerful enough for someone with a lot of hair!.
The best part of the hotel was the rooftop pool, we spent most of the day there!. You get great views across the city, the pool area is very clean and there is a eating/relaxing area in the shade which is newly decorated. I didn't make it for breakfast but apparently it was ok but nothing special.
Its true the hotel is not right in the centre, however the new metro system is a fantastic way of travelling around the city. Its about 5 mins away to the main squares and is a pleasure to travel on.
I would definitely consider the President Hotel if I returned to Athens.

"Rooftop pool"
The best thing about the hotel is the rooftop pool which has a nice cafe/bar and where you can order meals to be brought up to you.
Although the hotel is not in the centre, the subway is only about five minures away. There are plenty of shops and cafes nearby.
There is a nice piano bar on the ground floor
The breakfast is a buffet type with plenty of choice.
The room had air conditioning and was comfortable.

"Great value"
Stayed at the President Hotel Athens on a business trip.
You will be hard pressed to find better value for a “good” hotel in Athens, the price was very reasonable.
The location is well away from the city centre but a 10 minute walk gets you to either the Panormou or Ambelokipi tube stations on the blue line where you can use the excellent Metro system.
The Athens Metro is (in my book anyway) one of the best in the world being very safe, cheap and easy to use, thanks in part to the 2004 Olympic Games.
So, once on the tube you can get to the most popular locations such as the Acropolis relatively quickly.
For footy fans going to the Champions league final this May, even the New Olympic Stadium is in reach via the Metro green line from the city centre (Syntagma) to Irini station.
The hotel rooms are spacious and as this is one of the tallest buildings in Athens, the views are pretty impressive.
I didn’t try the hotel food so can’t comment on this.
I really enjoyed the rooftop pool which was great to use.
Don’t expect the Ritz but you get a satisfying hotel in Athens which is good value for money.
