"slightly dated decor"
Prince De Galles Hotel has a very nice room, slightly dated decor, but it fit well with the building and the neighborhood. The bathroom was simply amazing, marble everywhere, huge and the Hermes bath products were a nice, elegant touch. The room was of adequate size, especially for Europe and I enjoyed the balcony, albeit a very tiny balcony.
The hotel staff, when I saw them was mostly impartial, certainly not rude, but not warm and inviting either.

"Prince de Galles - great hotel"
The Prince de Galles in Paris is a great hotel. The staff was professional and very helpful. The rooms are clean and well-tended.
The location is near Champs Elysees and Seine River, so there is a lot to see and do within walking distance.
The conceirge recommendation of Laduree's (they made the pastries for the movie "Marie Antoinette") was excellent.
The cafes down the street near the Seine River are overpriced with average food, but there are plenty of other options.
If you're planning on dinner at the Eiffel Tower, skip Altitude 95 - it's extremely overpriced for below average food. The other restaurant is more expensive, but the food might be better - I'm not sure.
Make the trip to Angelina's (near the Louvre on Rue de Rivoli) for a hot chocolate - it is perfect for the chocolate lover.

"charming parisian hotel"
People seem to complain a lot about the things which make the Prince de Galles so charming. The rooms are beautiful and take you back to turn of the century Paris. It's unfair of other reviewers to say that rooms are shabby, they obviously prefer 21st century design to Parisian STYLE.
This hotel definitely deserves to be a part of the SPG group.

"Great hotel, service and location!"
We recently stayed at the Prince de Galle for a 6 day stay in Paris and were very happy with our choice. The main highlights were:
-Great service and hotel staff (especially the doormen and concierge)
-Wonderfully equipped and quiet rooms
-Very child friendly (we came with our 7 mo old)
-Superb location - just a block away from the Champs Elysses and the Metro stop for George V, plus lots of great restaurants nearby
I highly recommend the Prince de Galle.

"A true luxury experience"
I an not sure where the othe guests stayed, but my experience at the Prince de Galles was flawless. We were upgraded to a junior suite--actually two luxurious rooms--for our 5 night stay. The suite was in impeccable condition--better than many 5-star hotels I have stayed in. Service was perfect--warm and friendly. The room was spotless thanks to twice-day room cleaning and the breakfast was one of the best. It is not an inexpensive hotel--but it is Paris. And you will have to wait for your room until early afternoon--that is the reality of Europe. Concierge staff plentiful and most helpful--I emailed in advance and the restaurants booked were ideal.
Having stayed in other Luxury Collection hotels, this one was better than most. And you could not be better located near the Arc De Triomphe and Champs Elysse.
The Four Seasons George Cinq is next store and spectacular--but expect to pay 700 E for a room--and you will not get the warmth and intimacy of the Prince De Galles.
