"Good value in Paris"
I got a reservation for two at Novotel Paris Tour Eiffel for $100 a night on Priceline for the end of August, 2006. It was just as most of the reviews have described - big, bright, modern, with comforable rooms in an OK location. Our price did not include breakfast, which was 20 Euros in the hotel restaurant, so we went out to cafes for breakfast. The staff were courteous and helpful and we bought a card that gave us internet access in the hotel. The room was spacious with a nice bathroom and it had a refrigerator, but no coffee making supplies. The location is good, but not great. It is about a 10 minute walk to the Metro, and it is not close to any of the tourist sites, except the Eiffel tower, which is a 15 minute walk. If you walk east from the hotel along Av. Emile Zola there are restaurants. It may lack charm, but with the money you save on a hotel you can enjoy some great meals in Paris.

"Great choice in Paris for business and leisure"
The Novotel is a wonderful option for those wishing to stay near the Seine and is equally satisfactory for both business and leisure guests. I would have to give high grades for overal value when compared to the same class of hotels in Paris. The Novotel is definately not the cheapest alternative in Paris but you definately get a lot for the price you pay. The area around the hotel is quite quiet (other than the traffic on the main road by the river) and there are a number of excellent cafes and bistro / bars near the subway entrance. I recommend eating at places away from the direction of the Eiffel Tower as the prices and quality are much greater. The room was outstanding and had a nice view of the Seine River. The beds were average for what you might expect in Paris and the bathroom was well appointed. The only problem with the hotel was that the room had very poor air conditioning and we were quite dissapointed with the very warm temperature during the hot summer months. I managed to open up the room temperature setting and modify it accordingly. I realize hotels want to save money in the summer months, but guests at highly rated hotels deserve better. The bar in the main lobby was quite nice and check in was very smooth. I also used the adjacent fitness facility but had to pay extra. The pool is not the most relaxing place as there are aqua fitness classes going on during the day and evening. There is also a great outdoor area near the fitness facility with a nice view of the river. I also recommend taking evening walks towards the Eiffel Tower and exploring the surrounding area of the hotel. I always felt safe, but you should still be careful at night when venturing out into the city. To summarize, the Novotel Paris Eiffel Tower is a great option if you want all the comforts of a 4 star hotel and appreciate a good value.

"Good Hotel"
Booked this place through Priceline and got a pretty good deal. The room was of standard quality...nothing special and pretty generic. I would emphasize that the folks at the front desk and the concierge were very friendly and helpful. They all spoke perfect English and were willing to help us navigate Paris. The location is fine. There are two Metro stations on different lines within 10 minutes walk. There is also a big store adjacent to the hotel. The store sold everything from underwear to books to groceries. There was also a good cafe for breakfast nearby...ask the concierge. Solid hotel choice for the price we paid. If I had to pay their advertised rates, I would have chosen something a little more quaint and Parisian.

"Prinz Eugene pretty nice"
We stayed at the Prinz Eugene Hotel in Vienna in March, 2004. I chose it because it is literally across the street from the Sudbahnhof railroad station, so it was extremely convenient to take the bus from the airport to the Sudbahnhof, stay overnight, and grab a train the next morning. The hotel has a nice lobby, and a very nice breakfash room, and a very nice breakfast was included in the price (cheese, sliced meat, muesli, scrambled eggs, breads, jams, etc.). The room itself was nice, although not overly large, with a bed and desk, closets in the wall instead of an armoire, a nice bathroom. Not luxury, but nice, maybe on the order of a Holiday Inn in the US. |

"Pretty Good"
chose this hotel because it is probably the nearest one to Sudbahnhof station . It is located directly across the road from it. This road is quite busy so this hotel cannot be recommended for anyone seeking a lie in. However if you are staying in one of the rooms looking towards the city then this noise will not be a problem. If you are staying on the hotels upper floors and facing the city centre then you are in for some spectacular views. The staff here were friendly and the rooms were of a good size.Excellent public transport connections with the U1 line just a short stroll away.Their is also a chemist located next door to the hotel with a pleasant Italian owned cafe located on the other side.Generally quiet area close to the Belvedere castles.

"Very nice hotel in a dynamite location"
The location of this hotel is wonderful. It's right across the street from the South train station (Sudbahnhof), thus if you arrive by rail, just go to Sudbahnhof and you're there. If you arrive by plane, just take the bus from the airport to Sudbahnhof. If you want to go downtown to all the tourist sites, walk a block and you're at the metro stop (Sudtirolerplatz), which takes you into the heart of Vienna in 10 minutes.
The staff is super friendly and all spoke good English. The room was clean and adequately sized. We stayed in five hotels on this trip and the Prinz Eugen had some of the most comfortable beds.
We would certainly stay there again!
