"Great Hotel"
Loved our 4 day stay at the Sofitel. Although probably geared more to the business traveller even as a tourist one can enjoy good accommodation without over the top prices.
It is a modern hotel, good size rooms, especially for Paris and nice bathrooms. Slippers and bathrobes are included.
Good service, room service was always quick.
If you don't like the hotel restaurant prices there are lots of restaurants within a few minutes walk in very charming pedestrian area.
The Metro is a few minutes walk away and a few stops takes you to the Madelaine. Would definately stay there again.

"Very Nice Hotel"
I found the hotel here in Trip \advisor. The hotel is just perfect. The breakfast was delicious. Location: Very close to metro station. The room very confortable. Points of interest close by: national library F. Miterrand, Parc Bercy, Cinematheque Française, Bercy Village. recomend, and would saty here again

"Upscale hotel in business area"
Very nice. Looked & smelled new or recently refurbished. Stayed 1 night as part of a package tour. Very safe. Very clean. Convenient to metro - 2 blocks (Cour St. Emilion - line 12). Staff very accommodating. Definitely 4 star luxury hotel. Upscale area. Area geared more to business traveler than tourist. Variety of dining and shopping close to metro. Next to a park. 1 block to river.
Expo Center (Bercy), Sports Arena (Palais Omnisports de Paris-Bercy), and Finance Ministry are close enough to walk (i.e. less than ½ mile).
Downside: A bit pricey for tourists. Not close to any major attractions (although Metro line 12 goes direct to Chatelet station near Notre Dame.)
This hotel was included as part of a package so I don’t know the nightly rate. My hotel selection criteria are 1) safe, 2) clean, 3) convenient then I temper that against price. I would stay again if the price was right (i.e. $150/nt or less when vacationing.)

"Out of the way but nice"
I stayed at the Sofitel Bercy for two nights December 8th. The hotel was clean and well appointed (I did not see any of the worn around the edges experience reviewed by others.) The location is this hotel's weakness from a tourist perspective although it is close to the metro as mentioned below. I'd recommend finding something closer to the main tourist attractions, if possible. The small Bercy village just a block or so away from the hotel was delightful, however. Very nice restaurants, many with outdoor seating. Upscale shopping is there as well. Only disappointing experience was with the bar service in the hotel lobby where prices appeared to be arbitrary (beer fluctuated in cost depending upon when you ordered or who you ordered from!) The breakfast buffet was satisfactory but not exceptional in any way. Overall, a good choice but if you can find comparable pricing on either the left or right banks closer to say Place Vendome or St Germain, I'd opt for that for the added convenience.
