"Great location for exploring the Costa Del Sol"
The Pyr Fuengirola is currently under (unobtrusive) renovation, which in my opinion will move the the Pyr from a 3 star to a 3 star plus establishment. The hotel is apartment style with facilities to make light meals. Higher floors have amazing views of the ocean, mountains and promenade which runs the length of the town. (These rooms were still undergoing renovations as of Dec 2002). Lower floors where renovations have already taken place sport brand new everything! Comfortable and clean with a helpful/smiling staff the Pyr boasts a fantastic location, directly opposite the beach, overlooking the promenade, surrounded by restaurants, grocers and shopping from markets to haute couture. Off season (Nov through March) is a great time to go as crowds are kept to a minimum and temperatures/weather remains mild and sunny (mid December daytime temperatures reached 19C (66F). Staying in Fuengirola offers easy access to the many sights of the Costa del Sol and surrounding areas from the famous white villages to the Rock of Gibraltar to Morocco.
