"Excellent presentation"
Beautifully presented and revamped hotel, the rooms were stylish and were at an affordable price range. Located close to the CBD, i was able to find transport without a problem. The hotel has a positive ambiance and was reflected amongst staff. Great for a little getaway!

"Happy with the Cambridge Quality Hotel"
I recently stayed at the newly refurbished Cambridge Quality Hotel for 2 nights in a standard double room. Although the room was basic and quite small, it was clean and perfectly adequate for our short stay given that we only paid about $130 per night which is cheap for Sydney. The hotel is a little out of the way of the main attractions of Sydney (Circular Quay etc), but it is only about a five minute walk to the nearest Oxford St bus-stop where buses run frequently to Circular Quay. It takes about 15/20 minutes to walk to the central shopping area of Pitt Street. The hotel is very close to a range of pubs and clubs (mostly gay) and restaurants.
The hotel is situated in a quiet street off the busy thoroughfare of Oxford Street. We had no problems with the lift as some of the other reviews mention, but the hotel is installing brand new lifts as the final stage of their refurbishment. The only annoying thing was the bar closed at 9.50pm on Sunday evening!
I would recommend this hotel for anyone who doesn't want to pay top dollar for a hotel and doesn't mind being a little out of the main city. It's not the sort of hotel that you would spend alot of time in as there are not many facilities, but if you just want a base in which to explore Sydney then it's fine. I would definitely stay here again.

"Brilliant, Close to all attractions"
we booked our stay through M-Power booking agents, and found the hotel more than satisfactory. They were just finishing re-furbishing, but this did not affect our stay in any way.
Our room had a balcony (they dont all, so if you want one specify when you book), t.v., fridge (very handy ).safe(2dollars a day), mini bar (with price list), tea & coffee making facilities, hair dryer & iron. Everything you would want really.
The room was cleaned every day,and clean towels provided. the reception staff were very helpfull with diections, and provided us with a map of the city.
The hotel is positioned just off Oxford st. near Hyde park. Riley st. is a residential street, so nice and quiet at night. About a 20 min walk to circular Quay, and 15 mins walk to central station. If you dont want to walk, bus stops are close by. A number 380 will take you to Bondi beach!!
Ther is an "Irish" pub just up the road that serves good steaks, among other things. Good sevice.
We didnt sample the Dinners in the hotel restarant, but the breakfasts were very good, as much as you could eat (help yourself) for 12 dollars (£5). cooked / cereals / fruit / continental. enough to really set you up for the day.
We booked about 9 months in advance, and found that we saved about 50% on the nightly rate. we paid 130 dollars (about £50 per night),
We really enjoyed our stay in Sydney, the people were friendly and helpfull (especially the bus drivers). oodles of places to eat, and at very reasonable prices. The local beer is Tooheys, recomended by the locals!
Be sure to go up the Oz Tower, it really is worth it, the view is wonderfull. Also, we found that the ocean beach (not the harbour beach) in Manly was far supperior to Bondi, as it was shaded by trees near the promenade.

"Alot has changed at the Cambridge Hotel"
Stayed at the Cambridge Hotel recently and was pleased to note that the hotel is undergoing a complete refurbishment which was well overdue. The rooms are spacious and some have balconies that overlook the city skyline. The hotel is conveniently located to the cbd and bus transport to and from the city to the beaches.
Staff are friendly and helpful and the refurbished rooms are fresh and have a modern decore.
The Hotel offers good value for money especially now that the hotel has been refurbished.
Theres a bar with happy hour each evening and the restaurant is of a good standard.
