"Best place to do a stop-over (also Taxi Advisory)"
Despite the reviews stating that this hotel was less than satisfactory, we decided to try it anyway. Our int'l flight arrived in Bangkok at 2am and we had a domestic flight to catch at 9:30am. Last time we did this, we slept in the domestic terminal and it was a horrible sleep. I DO NOT recommend this option to anyone.....if you are being cheap (like we were originally) you may want to reconsider. Even though we only had 7 hours layover in Bangkok, we paid $40 and slept at the Quality Suites. The hotel staff was extremely helpful, the hotel was clean, the rooms are much larger than most hotels, and the breakfast buffet was suprisingly very good. I read some of the other travellors' reviews on this hotel and some said it was poor quality etc.......my opinion.....it is a $40/night room in Asia, not North America. My recommendation: for layovers and quick stop-overs, get a room here. TAXI ADVISORY!!! Ok, so the hotel offers free shuttle pickup/dropoff at the airport. The only problem is getting ahold of them from the airport to pick you up. You are supposed to call them and then they will come. However, we were really confused how to call so we took a taxi instead. Now.....if you do this, MAKE SURE YOU DEMAND them to use the meter. The drivers will try and insist you pay them around 200 baht for a ride to the hotel. Regardless, insist on the meter. Now......if they turn the meter on, be aware that they will take you on a short "joy ride" to build up mileage. They may act like they are lost or that the hotel is in some difficult place. Wrong. The hotel is really close to the airport and should not be more than 100 baht on a meter. We found this out the hard way and paid more than that after a rather lengthy joy ride. The hotel receptionist told us that taxi drivers often overcharge the guests at the quality inn because it is so close to the airport. The best thing to do.......call the hotel and arrange for a pickup. All the best!

"great if near airport needed"
Great place if you need a hotel near the airport. Excellent free transfert service (we had given flight information and they picked up us at the airport., to go back, the shuttle drives to the airport every hour). Huge suite old fashioned but clean and confortable with 2 queen size beds. Restaurant is not that good and expensive, you better eat outside in one of the many places available. There is a shopping center at 10 mn walk where you can buy great food, music and computer stuff, but limited clothes selection. Breakfast is perfect and starts from 5 AM. The swimming pool is small clean and right in front of the reception desk.

"Good stop over hotel"
This was an excellent "stop over" option and their breakfasts was above expectations. We decided to take a British Airways flight to have the stop over instead of taking the QF flight. We made it to Phuket in a better state and only an hour later. The hotel rooms were good and we were able to get a decent night's sleep after an 8 hour flight from Australia, before getting a domestic flight the next day. The service on the domestic flight was great too. The hotel was really close to the airport and efficient transfers were all part of the service. I'd recommend this hotel to you. I'll be going back there next time.
