"Loved Raffles The Plaza"
My husband and I were in S'pore over Christmas to visit his parents..midway through our trip, plans to stay in Changi for a few nights with my brother in law and brood from Sydney changed (bad weather, poor beach, etc) - so at the last minute we were desperate to find a couple of hotel rooms in town. Came across Raffles The Plaza on the internet and it looked almost too good to be true - excellent location, great price, but when we checked in, it was even better than true. Our adjoining rooms had a fantastic view of the Esplanade and marina. The rooms were spacious, and everything from the bedding to the linens to the towels and bath amenities were luxurious. The pool and surrounding seating were fabulous and kid-friendly without it being a circus. The staff - from room service to bell-chaps who'd arrange transportation were friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. The hotel itself is attached to a massive shopping complex, with a food court/hawker center that made it very convenient to get an excellent meal quickly and cheaply. We had dinner at the hotel's "Szechwan Court and Kitchen" - not only superb food, but brilliant service - my husband was so impressed with a szechwan peppercorn dish he asked our waitress where he could go to buy similar peppercorns - and when she went to check, ended up bringing a good sized ziplock bag full of the peppercorns, courtesy of the chef. Can't rave enough about this hotel - they really knew how to treat their guests - everything was top notch. |

"Need not have worried"
I have stayed here many times and reviewed it before. I had been concerend about slipping standards but the hotel has started updating some of the rooms and doing a superb job of it. They were already good, but got better with refurbed bathrooms and flat screen TVs, furniture and lighting, so as a regular very impressed. For a business traveller it is good but bring own laptop to use as the room facillities are good. It is handy for the revamped shopping centre, underground and probably has the best Italian in town in Prego's at ground level.

"Perfect"
Recently stayed at Raffles on a stop over on the way to Aus. We stayed for 3 nights. Had we stayed for any less I think I would have been dissapointed, as it takes at least 2 days to recover from flights and associated stress. Once we had acclimatised to the change of pace we then started to truly appreciate where we were.
Hot tip. Don't feel out of place, the staff will not judge you, and you will only spoil your stay.
If we can afford it again, we shall return.

"A good choice"
Having stayed at several Singapore hotels on business, I found this one to be excellent for the money (we paid $270S). Good comfortable room, good food, a large pool, and an unbeatable location.
Highly recommended!

"An Outstanding Experience"
My wife and I have just returned from 12 days in Asia. We took a tour starting in Hong Kong. We were booked into Raffles the Plaza for three nights. Staying at this hotel was pure pleasure. The room was very adequate in size, spotless with outstanding amenities. There was nothing to complain about and I only wish that all of my future stays in hotels will be as good.

"Great Hotel"
Loved the Plaza! Had stayed here years ago when Westin owned it. Was not disappointed at all. Our room had a great view of the Esplanade (shaped like Durians). The room was spacious, husband loved the bedside controls. The bathroom and shower were awesome. The glass sink made a mess though, water all over the glass...
The only complaint was the price of the breakfast which was around $S75. I can eat, but not that much.
A tip: we went to the little grocery store in the bottom of the Raffles Mall and got fresh sushi and fresh rolls from the panaderia located adjacent to it. Unbelievable.
Location is the best; MRT, waterfront, Merlion, Raffles Hotel.
