"Family Friendly - Recommended"
We stayed for a Friday night before catching the ferry to Calais and were very pleased with our choice. We stayed in a family room (two double beds) which was fine for us as my boys are still quite young and like sharing. The room was plenty big enough very modern and clean. Hairdryer and iron with board was also in the room as was a very welcome hospitality tray. TV with internet connection also in room. Our room was very quiet and did not hear a thing until our alarm. We had dinner in the restaurant which was great, an authentic Indian buffet - very very good food. My son's had a choice from a child friendly menu and chose pizza's which were overcooked. Still the bar area was very nice and children very welcomed with free peanuts which the barman kept replenishing which was a nice touch. We did not choose to have breakfast as we were eating on the ferry. I had left my hair straightners there and they phoned to let me know and would send them on. All in all I would recommend the Ramada if you need to stay one or two nights. About a 7 minute drive to the port and we liked not being right in town. We would definately stay again when we are next on a booze cruise!

"Top Marks for the Ramada"
We stayed at the Ramada Dover for one night and despite a mix-up with the date booked (OUR FAULT), the duty manager could not have been more helpful in trying to secure us a room at an alternative hotel. Seeing our distress and disappointment, he offered us a room which was officially "out of service" due to one of the beds being damaged. We were pleased to accept the offer which was handled with grace and elegance.
The bar is relaxing and the food in the restaurant more than adequate even if the service was a little erratic.
A good quality hotel in this area.
