"Great Value"
Of the four hotels I stayed at in Vancouver and Victoria, the Ramada Inn Metrotown provided me with the best accomodations. The room was large, comfortable, quiet, and clean. I requested a basic room at the cheapest rate and got a two room suite with a queen bed in one room and a fold out couch queen sized bed in the second room. Both rooms had televisions. There was an alcove between the rooms with refrigerator, microwave, cabinets, coffee maker, and kitchen sink. The hotel provides free parking which is something I expect without thinking about it; however, I found out that Vancouver hotels frequently charge extra for parking. There was a free breakfast buffet consisting of toast, mini-muffins, and bagels with peanut butter, jelly, and margarine to put on them and of course, tea and coffee, but no decaf was available. For an extra fee of $4 there were pancakes, scrambled eggs and various fried pork products. This hotel is excellent for anyone traveling to Vancouver on a budget. It is located in the Asian community, a short 20 minutes away from downtown Vancouver and Granville Island and well worth the stay.

"Clean comfortable room and staff very accommodating"
Very positive experience. After reading the other reviews I requested on line to have a quiet room. I could not have asked for better. The housekeeping was great, bed comfortable and Santish the day front end person was wonderful and even pre-boarded me for my flight home. Could not have asked for better service. I will be back in September |

"Just what we needed"
We booked this hotel through hotwire for 3 adults and 1 child. Upon check-in, we were given an "upgraded room". It was on the 3rd floor and contained 1 king size bed and 1 queen bed. The room had microwave and refridgerator, which qualifies as a mini-suite. It was great! My husband loved the fact that there was a king size bed to share with me and our 3-month old son. The bed was comfortable.
The room was a nice size where the beds faced eached other at the end, which is a little different. Our room overlooked the parking area which is great. At first, we thought the area was somewhat shady but at ngiht time, the parking lot was very well lit so we felt a little better.
The location was great since it was on Kingsway, just a 5-10 minute drive from Metrotown, the biggest mall in Vancouver with 470 stores! Of course, it was bad during rush hour!
Through hotwire, it was advertised that there was included breakfast but upon check-in, the staff informed us that they have discontinued it since Nov. 2005! So we paid at the local pub for breakfast buffet for CAD $6.00 per person which included scrambled eggs, potatoe hash, sausage, bacon, toasts, french bread, mini-pancakes, and cereal. Drinks were seperate but it was good enough for us to start our day right.
All in all, my family and I would stay there again.
