"lovely"
i have just returned from the ramada yesterday! it was excellent the staff were friendly, the rooms were massive, and has excellent facilities. the only negative is that the hotel does not have its own parking but does offer a discount at other car parks. i would reccommend staying at this hotel again! the breakfast was nice and the staff were warm and welcoming! i would stay here again! if i ever go to edinburgh again as it has a nice central location. also the zoo is a must see it is brilliant!

"Clean, Comfortable, Excellent Location"
The Mount Royal has received differeing reviews over recent months but i get the impression this is only because of current renovation work that is being carried out in an unconspicuous manner. The staff were very helpful, pleasant and accomodating. We arrived early in the day due to travel arrangements and went to reception, although we couldn't check in, bearing in mind we were 6 hours before scheduled check in they did their best but didn't get a room. We stored our luggage and took in the sights of edinburgh. Upon returning we had been upgraded to a suite with castle veiw and private balcony over princes street without asking for it. Superb location for sightseeing and shopping, great bus service from airport to waverly station, 100 metre walk to hotel. Overall a well run hotel. would definietly stay again.

"Great location & good value for money"
Stayed in a twin room for 3 nights. Wasn't a refurbed room and overlooked the fire escapes & air con but overall was clean & tidy and I was happy with it considering we'd each paid less than £50 per night.
All the staff I spoke to were friendly and helpful. Small problem with the door keycards was solved quickly & promptly.
Breakfast was great - large choice (cooked, fruit, cereal, yoghurt, pastries etc) and constantly topped up. Waiting staff were attentive. Lovely view of Princes St gardens & castle from the dining room.
Can't beat the location immediately on Princes St. Makes getting around (whether by foot, bus or train) easy and nice to be able to go out in the evenings for food/drinks without being reliant on cabs.
The reason I rated this hotel above average was the location, value for money & breakfast. i would return here.

Best value in town!
Stayed at this hotel from 25th to 27th January. I had read mixed reviews and so was not expecting a lot. However on arrival we given a spacious twin room facing Princes Street. These rooms have been re-furbished in the "New York" style and were very comfortable and very clean. The bathroom was large with bath and power shower. There was a plasma screen but no mini-bar but M & S off-licence was next door. The windows are double glazed and block out most of the street noise. Princes Street is VERY noisy at the weekends with the revellers waiting for late night buses ans taxis. The breakfast is execellent and the staff are very helpful and friendly. I have stayed in various hotels in the city before and have mostly been disappointed but not on this occasion. The room rate from this website was unbeatable @ £75 per night, the cheapest stay I have had in the city centre ever. Well done Ramada Mount Royal and well done gtahotels.com will be visiting both again. |

"Absolutely loved it"
It's so worth the upgrade to get the room with the castle view! We spent two nights at the Ramada Mount Royal and just loved having the great view. The hotel's right on Princess Road so it was very convenient as well. I highly recommend this place.
