"Ramada Plaza, a good experience overall!"
A very well location hotel in a very busy and hectic city. The hotel is located on the main shopping street of Shanghai and is well located for walking to any of the major tourist sights and also the very good underground system. The hotel facilities are very good and the staff are both efficient and friendly. The breakfast and the restaurant food is fairly typical of your average hotel and is nothing to write home about. The accomodation, particularly the suite accomodation that we had on our trip, was spacious, clean and well equipped. Overall I was pleased enough with the hotel and would not discount using it again, however I would probably look to see what else was available in the same price range.

"Great Hotel - Great Location"
I just returned from a 3 week trip to China. I stayed at the Ramada Plaza for 4 nights. The hotel is very nice with a big atrium lobby and an excellent location in the heart of Shanghai. The hotel is directly on the pedestrian shopping mall. The subway station (both lines) is just at the end of the street about 4 min walk. About a 10-15 min walk to the bund area. Cabs are plentiful - but don't forget to give them the hotel's card because the Chinese name is very different. The room was very clean and was a comfortable size. The bathroom was nice and also very clean. I didn't try any of the restaurants and bars I think that the hotel has internet but I didn't have a laptop. There is a great internet cafe just across the pedestrian mall. There are no signs so ask one of the bell boys or concierge. The hotels staff mostly spoke english and were helpful and efficient . Directly next door is a construction site (a new Meridien hotel) and diagonally across the street is a new construction building. On one night I could hear the construction noises which ended at midnight and then started again at about 4am. It was not too loud, but if you are a very light sleeper then you should consider it. The other 3 nights there was no night time construction noise - not sure why. As with all hotels in China, the beds were a bit hard for my tastes. The price, location, and accommodations make the hotel a great choice in Shanghai.

This Ramada is better than the ones I've used in America. Helpful, friendly staff, nice rooms and in a great location for exploring on foot or underground.
