"We said that we would be back and we have been" My husband and myself return home yesterday after a 4 night stay at the Regencia Colon Hotel. We stayed there last year and decided that if we went back to Barcelona we would stay at the Regencia. Everything was as it was last year. We even had the same room! The only slight hitch was that for the first 24hours the heating was off. A little moan and groan and Hey Presto the heating was on. This is a well situated, clean, friendly hotel. Ladies there is no need to take a hairdryer or shampoo. There are even packets with a toothebrush and toothpaste in them. What more do you want? We wouldn't dream of staying anywhere else. It is well worth a try. Excellent value for money. A good stay. We will be back again next year. For 3 rashers of bacon, 2 fried eggs, 1 slice of toast with butter 4euro 90 cents at the Licra cafe come restaurant (coffee extra) next to the hotel of the same name on the Ramblas. Very enjoyable.

"Great location" The hotel is in the Gothic Quarter near the Cathedral. The location is perfect for sightseeing. We stayed 5 nights for $135 a night. Considering the cost and location the hotel was a bargain. We had a large corner room. Not only was the bed comfortable, but both the room and bathroom were spacious and immaculate. The hotel staff cheerfully made our dinner reservations, arranged wake up calls, and arranged for taxi pickup to the airport.

"Warm, personal service" My husband and I stayed at Hotel Regencia Colon for four nights in June, 2007. We were in Barcelona for the Moto GP race in Montmelo, a suburb of Barcelona. We chose the HRC for its central location, proximity to the station, and price. We weren't disappointed. We were greeted warmly by the front desk. Our overnight train arrived in Barcelona at 10am, so we arrived at the hotel at 10:30. Our room wasn't ready but the hotel stored our bags while we started sightseeing. Our room, 259, was a corner room with a view of the Cathedral. The room was large with a great bathroom. The large bed, wardrobe, and desk had plenty of room for everything we had accumulated over 2 weeks in Europe. The staff, in particular Paolo, were warm, friendly, and very helpful. They gave us fantastic advice, directions, and recommendations. Breakfast was simple and good. Eggs, bacon, toast, croissants, melon, juice, and more. Don't miss La Locando, an Italian restaurant just around the corner. Their pizza and calzone rivaled the food that we had just left in Italy. I can't say enough about the staff at this hotel. After we missed our flight home, they arranged a room for us at their sister hotel, Hotel Colon. They were full that evening, but there was availability at The Colon.

Regencia Colon Have just returned with 6 others from 3 nights at the Regencia. All 7 thought that the hotel was excellent valu for money. The rroms were all clean with enough space. The location was perfect with lots of bars/restaurants nearby. The beach and marina were also within walking disatnce. The staff were very helpful and the breakfast also very good. We would all return.
