A lovely historical hotel in a great environment

The Regente Hotel was originally constructed in 1913, this art nouveau style building was turnt into a hotel in 1997. It has 79 rooms on 8 floors and is located right off of the Paseo de Gracia, where the finest shops and restaurants are located.

The Regente Hotel it’s conveniently located to some of the most popular tourist sites in the city, and not far from the beach and airport.

This hotel is very popular and has many repeat guests.

LOCATION

The Regente Hotel is just a few blocks from practically everything in Barcelona. Take a walk to Las Ramblas and Plaza de Catalunya two of Bareclonas most famous areas. Here you will fine many shops, bars and restaurants.

"great location very nice hotel"
Excellent hotel just back after 2 day stay with wife11th-13th dec 2006,great location for shops and night life .you don,t have to walk down to la ramba ,excellent shops and cafes around the vicinity of hotel ,staff very pleasant and helpful.walk into the heart of la ramba 5 mins.Would use hotel again.

"Loved this hotel"
We are just back from staying at this great hotel. We asked for a quiet room and we were giving a room on the first floor looking on to a wall but as we only use our room to sleep we did not have a problem with this. Lovely and comfortable, did not have coffee making facilities but as they had room service, bar and the rooftop terrace, plenty of places to have coffee if needed. The rooftop terrace was brilliant, the pool which they hotel make no secret of the fact is very small but the terrace was great to rest after the long days of walking. Unfortunately our holiday was marred by the theft of my boyfriends rucksack at the magic fountain, we still do not know how this happened, we class ourselves very street wise and we went to a quiet part with no one about before or after the event, John just put sun tan lotion on my shoulders and it was gone along with his passport/credit cards and other bits and pieces. The hotel manager gave us both a drink and also gave us a bottle of Cava. It is a shame because it is a beautiful city but the amount of people in the police station filling in forms and the things I have heard before and after it will soon lose its tourists if they do not do something about it.

"Quality and Value in an expensive city"
We did a thorough search of hotels in Barcelona and chose the Regente partly because of its location close to our relatives who live in the city. We were immediately impressed with the décor and the helpful staff. On our reservation, we had noted that we were celebrating our 35th wedding anniversary and found a bottle of champagne cooling in our room upon arrival! The room was very quiet and comfortable and had a balcony overlooking Rambla Catalunya which set our room back a bit from the street noise. The view was wonderful! Another plus was the lovely rooftop snack bar which is opened from noon till 9 p.m. each day. From there the views are gorgeous and the light meals delicious. Our first day at the hotel, some repairs were unexpectedly begun in the balcony area outside our room. The staff could not have been more apologetic or helpful. They changed our room, offered us free breakfast for the duration of our trip, and informed the manager of our plight. He came to greet us at the rooftop bar and bought us and our relatives complimentary drinks. He more than made up for the inconvenience of having to change rooms and added to the enjoyment of our visit. Everything in Barcelona is expensive but we thought the Regente gave us a good value for the money.

The Regente is in a brilliant loaction, right in amongst the great local Tapas bars and upmarket shopping boutiques. Walking distance from the Metro or the top of the Ramblas.Those who critise the rooms - this is Spain, not Las Vegas. There is a great city out there - hello?A great hotel in a great location in a great city.

We were upgraded to this hotel by the tourist information office in Barcelona. Although a 20 min walk or so down to La Ramblas, the area around the hotel is far more spacious, less noisy and less crowded. The hotel service was excellent. Room perfect, and maid service second to none. The staff were very friendly, helpful and courteous. The roof top terrace and pool is excellent for simply relaxing, above it all. Spectacular views from the top of the hotel. Breakfast amazing.. What a selection. We would strongly recommend this hotel. to anyone coming to Barcelona.

"Great hotel"
This hotel proved to be ideal for our stay in Barcelona. The location is close enough to walk to many of the attractions and a much more pleasant location than the Ramblas. The street is tree-lined with some excellent restaurants and shops nearby that are far better and cheaper than those on Las Ramblas. Our room was large and air conditioned, with a great bathroom. The roof garden and pool was also perfect for a first drink of the evening with a view over the city. Well worth a visit and we would stay there again.
