"A Great New Hotel"
The San Martino is set on gorgeous grounds, just as you arrive in trulli country from Taranto. The public spaces and rooms are very attractive and well thought out, although the standard room is somewhat small. The restaurant is excellent.

"Really a 5 stars"
We have just returned from a long week-end (4 nights) at the Relais Villa San Martino. The hotel is very nice and quiet. The room (Superior) was somewhat small, but it was clean, with a magnificent king-size bed, beautiful curtains, a comfortable parquet and a flat-TV (20" LCD TV, NOT Plasma-TV as advertised) with DVD player. A relaxing terrace was also present (were you can have a romantic breakfast). Also the bathroom was quite small, but it was equipped with a fabulous Jacuzzi. The people at the Concierge were gentle and the room service was excellent. The breakfast was outstanding, in a lovely venue and with high quality food. The swimming pool was nice, large and quite, with comfortable sun loungers, surrounded by grass and trees. The only regrets about the pool were the temperature of the water (cold, not heated!) and the service (very lazy). Do not ask for ASDL or Wi-Fi: the only chance to have an Internet access is to ask the receptionist for their notebook (you can use it in the lobby for free). It was also disappointing that the elevator was out-of-order for two days (our room was at the first floor and we have an infant) and that during a wedding party there were not parking lots reserved to the hotel guests. We did not use the Spa facility and we did not eat at the Restaurant (Duca di Martina), so, we can not rate them. Overall I would say this is probably one of the best hotel for a relaxing stay in Puglia and the cost of the Superior Room (260 Euros B/B) is probably adequate for this high-class 5 stars hotel.
