"Great Location"
I stayed for a trade show in June of 2005. The on site restaurant was delicious. It has a wonderful buffet style breakfast and it was so nice to sit in the restaurant and watch the Blue Jays practice or play a game for lunch. This hotel is within walking distance to most everything or a short taxi ride (I have to say that Tornoto had the rudest cab drivers I have ever been in contact with.) The rooms were very clean and nice. Help very friendly. The wayne Gretzsky restaurant was a lot of fun. We had a party on the rooftop. I highly recommed it to anyone who may be hosting a soiree. I have attached some photos from the rooftop. Another wonderful place to eat is Jump. Not only did it have a fabulous menu, but the environment was very contemporary and upbeat.

"Like Steinbrenner"
I think my ten-year-old son's reaction, upon witnessing batting practice on the field below from our room following check-in, best sums up the experience of staying at a field view unit at this unique and excellent lodging facility. His excitement was obvious. “I can’t believe this! I feel like….Steinbrenner, or something!”
Watching major league baseball while sitting comfortably and enjoying the decadence of room service, just steps from your bed, is an incomparable experience. But even beyond such ridiculous self-indulgence, and the views of the field notwithstanding, this is an excellent hotel overall, both in terms of service as well as location.
The Renaissance is the no-brainer choice for visitors attending events at the Rogers Centre. But beyond that, the hotel provides easy access to Toronto’s downtown; Front Street is a five minute walk from the lobby and the city’s lively business district is just a few minutes further on foot. In addition, the impressive CN tower is literally right next door and the lakefront commercial areas are within a few blocks as well. Unlike many urban sports venues, the area surrounding Rogers Centre is actually quite walkable and the environs are completely non-threatening when the stadium is quiet.
We found the hotel’s service and facilities to be excellent throughout our two-night stay in late June. Our bi-level suite was large enough to accommodate our family of four comfortably, and it featured a nice work space, a large and nicely decorated bathroom, and a spacious double closet.
Our only disappointment throughout our stay (other than the fact that the constant threat of thunderstorms never allowed the Rogers Centre’s roof to budge from its closed position) was with the pool and spa area, an otherwise large and nicely done indoor space. Because the Jacuzzi wasn’t operating properly, its water temperature was barely higher than that of the pool. Then there was the Aquacise class, which, though no posting existed anywhere that we could see, forced an early exit from the pool on our first afternoon. Hotel facilities otherwise, including the pleasant Arriba Restaurant, were excellent and the common areas were nicely furnished and very well maintained.
In summary, we’d recommend this facility to anyone visiting downtown Toronto, not just patrons of the Rogers Centre. If your plans do take you to the stadium and your agenda calls for viewing an event, don’t hesitate to spring for a field view unit; you won’t be disappointed. Contrary to what you might think, prices are not particularly prohibitive. And, who knows, you might be lucky enough to enjoy an amenity we missed out on: the view of the field beneath a sun lit sky.
