"great stay"
We have just returned from a 3 day stay at the Renaissance Hotel in Vienna and it was excellent. All around a rather nice hotel. Our room was on the third floor facing Linke Wienzeie (busy street right in front of the hotel) but we didn't hear any noise whatsoever.
The location is not central but everything can be reached by subway. Major sights of Vienna are only 20 minutes away. Schönbrunn palace is within walking distance. The bed was delightfully comfortable and we were able to get a good night’s rest.
All members of staff we encountered, especially the ladies in reception and the bar, were consistently friendly and attentive. Bianca and Tamara deserve special mention.
The internet service was great, wireless access throughout the hotel. We stayed in more exclusive hotels in Vienna but they were not better and we would definitely book here again without a doubt.

"Excellent property"
We booked this hotel for a significant discount on priceline, and we were very happy for our three night stay in Vienna. As mentioned, it is adjacent to the metro, so easy to get anywhere. There are some restaurants immediately adjacent to the hotel, and the hotel bar is excellent with some good happy hour specials and food.
The rooms are very clean and have every comfort. The breakfast looked great, but we were not willing to pay 22 euros for the buffet.
We arrived on a Saturday and walked down a main thouroughfare near the hotel. We were surprised to find a ton of shops, but few restaurants that were open on a Saturday.
The other nice thing is that it is just one metro stop away from the big castle, which you really should see.
If you go to the airport take the s7 train instead of the airport train. They run on exactly the same track, and leave from the same stations, but the s7 makes stops and arrives five minutes later. To use the s7 you have to buy 2 metro tickets and get one validated at the transfer station. The airport train is twice as expensive.

"Great hotel"
Just returned from a very pleasant 4 day break in Vienna. Initially we felt the hotel might be too far from the centre but getting there is easy, by underground. The station (Meidling Hauptstrasse on route U4) is opposite the Hotel.
The hotel is on a busy road and traffic noise can be quite loud except that the air conditioning system means you do not have to open the window and let the noise in.
Breakfast was excellent with a good range of quality food. We didn't use the Hotel restaurant in the evening but chose to eat at a nearby Italian Restaurant, Da Apollo. The evening menu in the Hotel's restaurant didn't look very extensive. Our only disappointment was that there were no tea or coffee making facilities in our room.
Our twin room was spacious, with two double beds. It was clean and well furnished.
All staff were very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful.

"Great for a quick stay"
This hotel was great. I stayed there with my Father for two nights in March and if you need a hotel which is clean, great staff, good food and a pool, then this is for you. It's really a business hotel but its only 4 stops to the cetnre of Vienna, so is convienient for touring the city. If I came to Vienna again, I would probably stay here again.

"Just Wonderful!"
We stayed at this hotel for a week during April of 2004. It is 5 stars in every category. It is modern and very efficiently run. The front desk and restaurant personnel all speak English fluently. They made us feel at home. We booked our concerts, events and subway travel tickets directly through the hotel. They were very helpful with the selections. The hotel is located one-half block from a subway stop on the number 4 line. We took the subway for all of our site seeing adventures. The subway (or Underground) is clean and very well run. The hotel is also located within one block of a shopping district that includes general merchandise, markets, drug stores and quick serve restaurants. Our experience overall was wonderful. We will stay at this hotel again when we return to Wien.

"Professional and Convenient"
I had a very pleasant stay here in June. I reached the hotel by taking the scheduled bus from the airport to the Nordbahnhof (6€) and then a taxi to the hotel (9€ with tip). Check-in went smoothly and I was given a room on the top floor with a courtyard view. There was a nice letter and some chocolates from the hotel as a welcome amenity for me (lowly Silver elite status in MarriottRewards). The room was cozy, but still comfortable. I did find the lack of drawers or dressers to place clothing in slightly annoying. I did appreciate that there was a small safe in the room for personal use, as well as a trouser press.
During my stay, the weather in Vienna was hot and humid and I found that even with the air conditioner at its coldest setting and the fan on high, the room did not cool too much lower that 76 degrees during the day and 72 at night. The window in my room opened fully to allow the cool night air in, but with a common fire escape outside, I did not feel comfortable leaving it open while I slept. I found the bed to be form and comfortable, with soft down pillows to rest one’s head on.
My only meals were at the breakfast buffet, which was hearty and had a good selection of food. Of note was the selection of Japanese breakfast items, such as miso soup, steamed rice, and pickled vegetables. During my time at the hotel, there seemed to be a significant amount of Japanese tour groups passing through. I learned that it was best to either go to the buffet right when it opened at 6:30 a.m. or after 8:00 a.m. The times I went before 8, I found the restaurant completely full, with no open tables.
I used the U-Bahn almost exclusively to get around and found it to be safe and convenient. I had a few late nights out, and still felt safe riding back and walking to the hotel. The U-4 Meidling Hauptrasse station (actually, the office building that is being built over it and the intersection outside) is still under construction, but navigable. The escalator up from the platform was placed into service a few days after I arrived, which was much appreciated. I would note that loud jack hammering and other construction noises begin early each day, so I would certainly ask for a room either facing the courtyard or on the wing that is away from the busy street below.
I found the staff to be friendly and courteous and well spoken in English, which helped because my German is horrible. I did use the business center a few times but I don’t think I ended up getting billed for it. The Internet connection was flaky and slow.
At the end of my stay, I was catching a train to Salzburg from the Westbahnhof. The hotel provided me a ride in the hotel’s Alfa Romeo sedan for 11€ with tip. All in all, I enjoyed the service and comfort here, other than the air conditioning. I certainly felt like I was staying in a professional property. The distance from the city center can certainly be overcome by riding the U-Bahn. I’ll certainly keep this property in mind the next time I am in Vienna.

"Clean and Comfortable Value Hotel"
I recently stayed at the Renaissance Wien in November with my husband and parents. We all thought the hotel was very clean, the staff was friendly, and the rooms were a good size. This is not a place for someone looking for luxury but it is great for budget travelers. While the location is not in the center of the city, the U-Bahn is right across the street and it is about 8 minutes into the main area (Karlsplatz). The area of the hotel is also very safe but it is a sleepy area (not much going on). The only thing I was not happy with was the service at the breakfast buffet in the main dining area. We had the buffet (which is very expensive)and the waitstaff ignored us the entire time. When we finished with a plate, they did not come by to pick them up, so we had to stack them on our table. They also stood around chit-chatting with each other rather than servicing the tables. But, this is my only complaint about the hotel. We would definitely stay again.

"the Best Bed Ever!!!"
We didn't stay long in Vienna(2 nights) but this nice hotel was great! Nice location - right acroos the street from the U-bahn(no more construction) in an attractive neighborhood. This was the BEST bed i have ever slept in in a hotel!!! Just like mine at home - amazingly big(large King size) and firm but soft - with 6 Down(not feather but down) pillows!!! Also. we got a room that was really too large for us. I say this because there is no way the air-conditioning could properly cool it. It should have been split into two nice size rooms. so if it's summer and you need it real cool - try a more expensive hotel. But other than that - for the 85 bucks we paid on priceline...this room and bed Rocked!!! ..Jay Bloomfiled, New Jersey
