* The oceanfront Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua is 10 miles from historic Lahaina. The resort has completed a $180 million transformation project in January 2008, featuring new guestrooms, one- and two-bedroom residential suites, and redesigned restaurants.

* Two championship golf courses adjoin the resort: one designed by Arnold Palmer, the other by Ben Crenshaw and Bill Coore.
