The cloth-dealer Carolus Belier and his wife Fancisca had it built in 1592; today, the venerable gable house of hown stone, full of fluted columns and ornately carved window blocks, is a listed building. "Persta invicta, Venus" – these words are inscribed in gold letters on the gable of the Renaissance building. How many renovations the house has seen in its 400 year-history is not documented, but on every occasion the respective owners were aware of this commission when designing the rooms behind the magnificent facade.
