"Very comfortable stay"
We stayed in this hotel for one night in a comfortable twin room. The views across the sea towards the castle were impressive and although the hotel is on a main road, the room was very quiet. The pool and terrace on the roof were lovely with excellent views. The included breakfast was adequate. Although the hotel was clean and well maintained, the decor was a bit dated. Overall, a very comfortable stay.

"Great Location"
We arrived looking rather shabby after an overnight train ride from Milan, and the member of staff that greeted us at 6am was friendly and helpful. With a little colloquial Italian, we managed to get into our room early. Despite most of Naples being dirty, run-down and pedestrian-unfriendly, this hotel is in a great location. You are directly opposite a gorgeous castle brimming with great restaurants and bars. The sightseeing tour bus leaves directly opposite the hotel and is a great way to get around. You will find it much easier to walk to the Piazza Vittoria where there are more frequent buses to get you around town. Pompeii and Herculaneum are short (20 min) train rides away from the main Garibaldi station. Public transport is cheap in Naples. We found that the "arte card" was great value for money. It included a 3-day travel card which gives you unlimited travel on the city's transport network and entry to the main attractions, including Pompeii. Naples is a great jumping off point for seeing the islands, such as Capri and Sorrento. Fast, frequent boats leave from the ferry terminal, which is a 30-min walk from the hotel. We never felt threatened walking around and found that speaking a little Italian went a LONG way in Naples.

"lovely hotel"
We were a family of 4 and stayed in the hotel aug 05, children 14 and 11, hotel was ideal for us, very clean, quiet and the breakfast was good.Our room had a fab view over the bay and the loaction is ideal for eating out being near loads of resturants, touristy but hey who cares!!Roof top pool was great and the kids loved the idea of being able to order drinks and food form the poolside. Top tip though get a taxi from the airport as the bus was fine but stopped some way from the hotel and walking with kids and luggage on that busy road was a bit scary! Also have to say we found Naples fine to walk about in , just be sensible we found it no worse than any busy city. oh and if you do visit pompeii take childrens passports and they get in for free, we did not and it ends up an expensive day, although it was brillant.

"Great view, Great Location"
If you ask for a sea view you will be surprised. Booking via Citalia seems to guarantee this. The hotel is right on the sea front with a view of the volcano and the castle across the road. The castle can be easily climbed to get a view back of the hotel and the bay area. Via Santa Lucia (5 min left out of the hotel)has a wide range of good eating places. A ten minute walk up this road brings you to the biggest square in the area - the Plebiscite. This is a junction to different parts of Naples, including the old town as well as Chaia. At the corner of this square is the most famous (and flash) coffee house in town. Would certainly stay in this hotel again.

"Best Location to Stay in Naples"
We got a lovely room with a balcony looking straight out at the Castel Del Ovo and all over the bay of Naples. The views were great. The breakfast was good. The hotel itself is in a great location. We stayed pretty close to the area around the hotel as its very safe. The Royal Continental is a great hotel in a great location and when we return to Naples in the future we will stay here!
