"pure luxury and so relaxing"
Royal Monceau Hotel was spacious and neatly decorated with full bathroom and bathrobes and slippers were provided.
The hotel breakfast was fantastic, there was a variety of fruit and pastries as well as hot options- again the breakfast staff were very helpful.
The facilities at this hotel should also be taken advantage of, the swimming pool, jacuzzi and the sauna are well worth a visit- it is pure luxury and so relaxing.

"Royal Monceau Hotel is beautiful and luxurious"
Royal Monceau Hotel is beautiful and luxurious....from great bathrobes and towels to huge rooms and great bedding. The only negative is the price of course and correspondingly the price of food.

"Absolutely fine"
Paris hotels are not the best and I often find myself disappointed. Not so this time had a lovely stay at the Royal Monceau and shall return. Good sized room (rare in paris), tastefully decorated (thankfully not overkill of floral patterns), good bathroom albeit on the small size but lots of towels/bottles to play with. Found service very good, prompt and attentative - main highlight of the stay. didnt get chance to use dining room/bar or gym so will update next time. No sign of the refurbishments that others mention so assume it has now all finished. I stayed here for business as its convenient; possibly would use for tourist purposes but a bit far from the centre for my preference (but you can look it up on a map).

"Solid, serviceable hotel near Arc de T."
We were bumped here after our agents booked us into Hotel Vernet and then Vernet bumped us. While not happy about this process (for which Vernet did make amends), we cannot fault the Royal Monceau. It's a block or two less desirable in location than Vernet but it is a lovely property and very high quality.
We had a renovated room and it was huge and gorgeous. Tons of closet space, lots of amenities; fine decor, separate WC and large bathroom with tub and shower.
The lobby area is a bit "gentleman's clubby" for me (browns and beiges) but classic. The restaurant looks lovely though we didn't eat there. There was harp music at dinner which we enjoyed from our coutyard windows. Our rooms were extremely quiet otherwise and we had a restful stay here. The price we paid seemed quite fair for the level of hotel and service offered.
While I generally prefer the smaller and cozier hotels, this one was fine for our first jet-lagged day and the next two. There's a nice spa downstairs, by the way, and they let me freshen up there (shower, etc.) when our room wasn't ready yet.

"Fantastic!"
I travelled to the Royal Monceau through work in July, the Hotel was incredible, upon entering the hotel you are greeted by the delightful and traditional Parisian lobby area of the hotel. Th check in staff were very helpful and check in was quick and easy.
My room was spacious and neatly decorated with full bathroom and bathrobes and slippers were provided.
The hotel breakfast was fantastic, there was a variety of fruit and pastries as well as hot options- again the breakfast staff were very helpful.

I was lucky to have the opportunity to stay at this hotel on business purposes - i didnt pay! - and although i was very impressed with the hotel, i do feel that it is some what over priced and for the average person i would imagine that the price would be too high. However for anyone wanting to splash out for a special occasion this would be ideal.

"a real French Palace"
Unbelievable! We have stayed here once before, but recently we wanted to see this hotel after the renovations ( Recently renovated by Jacques Garcia) , it is very nice, worm and very jet set .
Actually we did not see any touch of mandarin , we are not in paris to see oriental style here. We Booked on the internet and got a internet rate. Arrived late , so we were upgraded, very nice ! This hotel is total luxury and the service is worthy of the best praise. and just perfect
Breakfast buffet was really, really good , and generally one of the best gastronomic french food between tha palaces in Paris. They have also a gastronomic italian restaurant ( the only one with 1 star michelin in paris) The service was attentive and quick, and we had no problems communicating - the staff was patient and spoke English well.
New Spa and swimming pool, jacccuzi , massage ..perfect open very early to 11pm. They also have a Jacques Dessange luxury Hair Dresser ( i recommand Gerard )We will return with pleasure .

"Just wonderful"
I had the pleasure of staying 4 days at the hotel Royal Monceau, (Paris), a couple of weeks ago, and it was a great experience.
The public areas are very well renovated : rooms, hall, bar (except the corridors) done by the very well know designer Jacques Garcia.
The Rooms are nicely decorated in with that « French Touch » that I love.
The Staff is very friendly and helpful.
During my business trip, I had lunch with a friend of mine at the Royal Bar, and the atmosphere was « So Parisian ». Then, the dinner with my husband was in one of the 2 stars restaurants, Il Carpaccio and we have appreciated a high Italian Gastronomy.
On the last day, I had business lunch at the restaurant « Le jardin » located in the hotel garden. The surrounding is exceptionnal, right it in the heart of Paris.
The only problem I encountered during my stay was the key. I really had a bad time to unlock the door of my room. They should really do something about it !
All in all, it is a wonderful place to stay in, very well located, near the Champs Elysée and the Parc Monceau, in a quiet area.

"Agree with the others, good and bad"
On the whole i was very pleased with my stay here. We were sent here after being "bumped" from a sister property, and because of that ended up "only" having to pay $400 or so compared to the going rate of $700, so i felt we were already ahead of the game.
I agree with the comments below which seem fairly polarized. One must conclude that this a fairly venerable establishment that has undergone an uneven restoration.
Our room was fairly basic based on other pictures ive seen, but i was happy with it, it was comfortable and clean, the bathroom very nice, and on the whole the decor felt very authentic. Very decent amount of closet space. Certainly the relative shabbiness of the common areas (hallways) was slightly perturbing, but i chalked it up to old world charm.
The pool area was very nice. the pool seemed ancient (again, old world charm) but it was refreshing, an oasis in the big city. the jacuzzi was also nice but not the right temperature (i.e. lukewarm) when we used it although this may have to do with confusion over controls.
The staff was the high point. Completely professional, friendly, courteous, and helpful. I suppose in Paris often ones expectations in this regard are exceedingly low but they were exceptional, even by American or Asian standards.
I liked the Royal Monceau very much overall, although i may be being charitable based on the favorable room rate i serendipitously received. It felt like a very authentic luxury experience, and boasts an absolutely spot on professional staff.
