"Nice Location"
Hotel looks very Drab from the outside but is nicely fitted out inside with a nice bar area and nice restaurant facilities. Our room was one of the smaller rooms of which equate to about 20% of the rooms in the entire hotel , it was ok , TV had no news channells which was a disappointment, also only a shower in the room. I was at the back of the hotel so there was no noise problems from the road at the front. Fittings were ok, but if I had of been staying for more than 3 nights I would have asked to change rooms. The strongest quality is its location which was excellent 5 mins from the square and 10mins from the train station. Book your transfers with the hotel as they are the same price as everywhere and are reliable. Krakow itself is excellent and I would go back and stay in the same hotel too

"Loved this hotel, friendly staff"
This hotel is in a great location! It is clean and my single room was actually a small double located at the back of the hotel. No view of the Planty gardens but also no traffic noise. The buffet breakfast was the usual cheeses, fruits and breads but also had scrambled eggs and sausages. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Even the maids greeted you with a smile. Krakow is a beautiful city and the Hotel Monopol is a good hotel with reasonably priced rooms. I would definitely stay there again.

"Great hotel"
A great hotel, clean, and very near to the square 5/7 mins walk. Rooms a little small but excellent bathroom with plenty of hot water. Bar was nice although we arrive 5 mins after midnight and could not get a drink. I had read that the staff at reception were unheplful ,we found most of the staff great apart from (think this was male manager) who was very miserable. We rang hotel to send the car to pick the 8 adults up at airport great service, also useed this service to take us to Auschwitz. If I was to return to Krakow i would stay here.

nice shower!
Stayed here in a twin for 3 nights at the end of October and can't fault the hotel. It's conveniently located very near the old town (few minutes walk), and also near to Wawel Castle and the Jewish Quarter. The view from my room was quite nice, of the Planty gardens. Beds comfy, shower excellent, breakfast decent: scrambled eggs and cold buffet & cereal and a bottle of mineral water was left for each of us in the room each morning. Also a porter carried our bags up to the room for us as I don't think there is a lift. The trams do start travelling past the hotel quite early in the morning, but this didn't really bother us as it was worth it to stay so central.

"Great Hotel"
My partner and I stayed in this hotel for four days at the end of August/beginning of September. We couldn't fault anything! The room was clean, quiet (despite overlooking the trams), the bed was exceptionally comfortable and the shower was one of the best I've ever come across. It's only a very short walk from the main square and about 10 mins from the station on foot. The staff are all very friendly and helpful and we would definitely recommend this hotel.

"Excellent value for money"
For the price we paid (just under £35 a night) it was superb. Extremely near the town square, clean, next door to a well-stocked supermarket, excellent breakfast (yoghurt, cheese, cereal, meats, breads, salad, sausages, egg etc. etc. - could have done with more fruit though, but can't have everything!). We turned up in the morning and fortunately were able to go to our room straight away instead of having to wait til check-in time. When we got to our room it had 2 single beds, which we pushed together (the bed frames are a bit rickety); the next day when we came back to the hotel the cleaning staff or whoever had made them into a proper double bed, which was good (and very big!) Friendly and helpful staff, good bar. Lovely, powerful shower - one of the best I've ever used. Quite a bit of noise from the trams, and although it stopped at midnight it started up again very early. This wasn't too much of a problem as it was winter, but I should imagine if you're a light sleeper it wouldn't be too good in summer with the window open. We had to go up a few stairs to get to our room from the lift, so check with the hotel if you have mobility problems in case it's the same with all the rooms. Overall, if you want a good, cheap hotel, only a couple of minutes' walk to the town square, then the Monopol is the place to go!
