"A Shining Light"
We had booked to stay at another hotel in Paris which we had found using tripadvisor, but on arrival, even though we had confirmation, of our booking, they didn't have a room for us. We eventually arrived at the Saint Petersbourg Hotel, to be greated by very friendly staff who's English was commendable. Every single staff member that we encountered were friendly and helpful. They made us feel very welcome. Fantastic location, close to Opera Garnier, Palace de la Madeleine and Champs- Elysees and department stores. Excellent choice of food for buffet breakfast, large rooms containing tv, mini bar and phone and ensuit. Large Foyer and sitting area at entrance. We were so lucky that our room at the other hotel was not available. We would not have discovered this fantastic Hotel.

"Location and Friendliness"
Staff very accommodating and polite. Most helpful with directions, etc. Location excellent for Central Paris and shopping areas. Aircon worked superbly. Free breakfast was good.
Everything in reasonable walking distance. No noise.
Decor a bit tired but it added to the charm. .

"Pleasantly surprised"
We had to change our hotel reservations from Hotel de L'Universite because of a date change and could not find another hotel that had openings. We finally came upon Hotel St. Peterbourg. Knew nothing about it and were delighted to find a big double room (208)with a new bathroom on a side street near the Opera. Extremely clean and well maintained. A buffet breakfast was included. Staff was wonderful. Spoke English and very accommodating. Hotel used by business people and Europeans.
Fabulous restaurant ,Le Persil Fleur,on rue Boudreau (right around the corner) Father(speaks English and is charming) and son run it and the food was perfect. Retrurned two times.
Highly recommend this hotel and restaurant. Used the Metro nearby to get to other places. Walk to Gallerie Lafayette. Go to top of the building for a great view of the city and terrific ice cream! Enjoy
