"good hotel, business class"
Good 4star typical business class - good rooms, excellent bathrooms, good breakfast (included), good service. Location 15minutes walk to domo. Parking on road outside 12eu/day or in hotel garage at 10eu/day. Only downside is location which can be a little tiring after trapesing around the city - like some other reviews, not impressed with the city and definately over hyped. Realistically location is good for a couple of nights

"Wonderful Staff"
We stayed at the San Gallo Palace Hotel from 19 Aug until 22 Aug 07. We had a great time staying with them. Whilst on holiday my mum was ill and all staff were incredibly helpful. As soon as they new about her being unwell they were on the case immediately and did everything they could to help, just making the whole thing so much easier for us.
The hotel itself was very clean, modern and comfortable. The rooms sizes are small compared to USA but very much normal for Europe. The room quality was definately way above average. It is a good 10-15 minutes walk from the Duomo which was my only very small complaint, after walking all day in Florence, and extra 15 minutes walk was not welcomed! The breakfast was good, they had a wide selection - cereal, fruit, cakes, crossants, breads, egg, bacon sausages, juices.
For us the biggest plus point for us was the staff. they made our trip the most memorable.

"Best hotel on my trip"
I was very pleasantly surprised with this hotel. Out of the three hotels I stayed in this was the best, yet not the most expensive one. The room had a good size and everything looked new. Breakfast was included and it was good. Staff was very nice and helpful as well.
I would definately return to this hotel.

"Excellent choice in Florence"
Very professional service. Room of extremely high standard. Similar to the 5 star hotel we stayed at in Vienna but at less than half the price. Breakfast inclusive of hot and cold foods. Wide selection. Location great - 10 minute walk to centre and main attractions. Hotel recommended restaurant 2 blocks away called Alfredo which was a family run Trattoria with tasty food with large servings - best Italian meal we had in Italy. Went back twice. Parking at nearby secure undercover garage. Can come and go as you please for 10 Euros per day. One of the best hotels of our trip.

"Loved San Gallo"
We loved, loved the San Gallo Palace. We had a superior room with a HUGE bathroom, bedroom and a balcony overlooking the garden. The staff was courteous and helpful. When we arrived I was very sick and they called the pharmacy for me to make sure they were open and to tell them in Italian what I needed. Very good service!
It is not in the main center of town, but close enough. Bus stops right next to the hotel, hop on #17 and in three minutes you are at the Duomo. We also were able to walk there in about 15 minutes.
Florence was my favorite city of our travels and the San Gallo Palace defintely was a wonderful place to stay!

"Wonderful Stay"
We were thrilled to stay here during our honeymoon for 3 nights. It was about a 15 minute walk from the station although taxis, etc are readily available. The room was very clean and comfortable and the staff was excellent. We enjoyed the delicious breakfast every morning before starting our day. The rooms are a nice size compared to most in Europe.

"Overall very, very satisfied"
My wife and I made reservations with the San Gallo Place based on the good reviews in this forum. We stayed for a total of 8 nights and were very satisfied. This web page is so helpful and we do not regret to have paid 100.00 Euro per night.
The hotel is very clean, the staff professional and friendly, the breakfast was fantastic. |

"A Great Place in Florence - The San Gallo Palace"
My wife and I stayed just 2 nights at the San Gallo Palace, but wish we could return next week to stay for longer.
The hotel is around a 15 - 20 minute walk from the centre of Florence, but the walk is easy and it's strewn with little cafes, restaurants and shops - a joy in itself really. I think there is bus that runs from right outside the San Gallo but we never felt the need to find it!
Everything in the hotel feels new, it's stylish in an Italian way, but without too much of the 'chintz' that put us off various other hotels. We opted for a Superior Room and we're delighted with it's size and the spa tub in the big bathroom. Our room was at the end of a corridor and was very peaceful.
The breakfast is good, with a decent variety of cold meats, cheeses, breads, cakes etc. There's a small bar and relaxing lobby area, and really for the amount of time you're going to spend in your room/hotel, what else could you need? As I say - we'd love to return.
